Tap. Black with a lasting beige head. Aroma of oranges, mocha, pine needles, licorice. Silky, light bodied. Very clean. Citrus is more like the sweeter end of grapefruit than orange. Some very light roasty touches, chocolate, hints of mango. Dry at the end which gives the medium high bitterness a little extra prominence without being tiring. Reminds me of Moor Illusion a bit. Nice beer I could drink all night.

Tap. Dark brown with a beige head. Plummy with bread and some brown sugar, hints of chocolate, light roast. Medium bodied. Very slight heat from the chiles which also presumably provide the plummy/ raisiny feel as well as the hint of smoke. Decent bitterness at the end. I guess the chiles were a major feature in the beer but not very intense and I would have liked them either to have been a lesser player or more intense. Still, pleasant enough.

On taster at GABS Melbourne. This is a tricky one. As a bog standard IPA it cuts the mustard. It’s got a somewhat resinous aroma, a decent flavour structure and some lingering bitterness. But I got none of the promised fruit cocktail. The pine notes are very subtle and the coconut absent.

Pours crystal clear gold with a fading head.Nose shows some sweet malt, faint cardboard notes and faint spicy hops.More sweet malt as a flavour but again its got some musty/cardboard-like notes. Some herbal and spicy hops show through.

Growler, 10C. Clear golden amber with a white head that lasts fairly well. Aroma of ruby grapefruit, passionfruit, a little peach, white pepper. Light bodied. Bittersweet with hay, slight toast, rather more tropical fruit than suggested by the aroma, zesty and quite peppery at the fairly bitter finish. Not a lot to it but pungently fresh.

From a 500ml bottle on 25/5/2014 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a murky dark golden with a huge, slightly out of control, head. The aroma is very yeasty and basementy, with some fruity notes. Flavour wise, it’s a bit of an odd one. There’s lots of tart citrus (lemon and lime), with some funky yeast, wheat and clove. Not overly sweet or bitter, and lacks any discernible character. Has a medium body and lively carbonation. A bit of a mess really.

Bottle, 8C. Light amber with a large white head that lasts well, high bead. Aroma of lime, hay, grapefruit, coriander, white pepper. Tastes of cornbread and lime. No obvious "normal" wheat beer esters. Hop aromatics in the aroma get lost a bit which is a shame. Dry spicy moderately bitter finish with lingering lime. Fun. Presumably when they get a brewery this will be cheaper and then they’ll sell shedloads of this in summer.

(Bottle) Clear mid brown with reddish hints, and minimal head. Pleasant aroma of caramel with hints of pine and gunpowder. Light body with quite lively carbonation. Pleasant rich but not heavy taste, with a backbone of dark toffee, hints of stone fruit at the start and some crisp bitterness at finish. Pleasant, easy drinking, comforting.

Pours amber with a massive head.Nose shows doughy wheat, wafer bread, herbal coriander, lime and a savoury note. Really does conjure up images of tacos. Some spicy and floral hops underneath.Less intense flavours. Mainly cornbread with a hit of lime followed by a bit of the coriander.Carbonation could be a fair bit higher.Interesting and enjoyable stuff.
