(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE Aug 14, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20130810) The beer poured golden and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, grass and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, honey, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A bit thin but still decent Belgian ale.

Bottle shared with Joes, Dutchdrebus and Countbeer. Clear yellow to orange color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, some sweetness, some fruityness, a slight fruitpeel bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle shared with Joes, Dutchdrebus and Countbeer. Cloudy yellow color, full sized a bit creamy, a bit soapy white head. Smell and taste malts, decently bitter, some overripe fruits and a touch of alcohol. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice, well done.

Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, sweat, pine, resin and yeast. Bitter hoppy flavour, touch of malts. Bitter finish, resin and hops.

33 cl. bottle @ home. From Willems. Label seems to suggest a very, very small brewery at work here even by Belgian standards. Going by their website, it seems like this is actually the work of a brewpub (a big rarity in Belgium, I know only of 3 exiting brewpubs in Belgium at this moment including this one). Pours a murky peach orange with a small white head. Smells of soured dough, overripe banana, BE yeast, sweet and exotic fruits, clear signs of hop. Taste is sour green banana, lots of it, sour dough yeast, BE yeast, old orange peel, fermenting soft peaches, bitter grass in the back, multi-fruit juice and some of candy sugar, some bitter yeast in the back. Sparkling, odd fizzy carb, yeasty. Shows potential but it does seem like this has some issues.

75cl Bottle at RBESG ’13 Grand Tasting. A golden ale from Belgium... Right.. This is exactly why there should be a distinction here on RB between (Strong) Belgian Blond Ales and Dark Ales imho. Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of dry malts, yeast, a bit soapy, in the lines of XX Bitter, but way less good. Flavour is fruity, dry, yeasty, a bit cloying, not exactly what is expected from the aroma. Not great.
