Bottle. Nice lasting head. Aroma of alcohol. Flavour is interestingly spicy and peppery with a bit of sweetness to balance it. Not much bitterness nor aftertaste.

Not much aroma. Head is white and average. Light amber color. Starts tasteless, ends with small hoppy flavour. Dissapointing Czech beer. (3/3/5/2/9 2.2)
Re-rate, bottled (BB 03/2005)
Golden lager color, small white head. Sweet malty, almost corn-like aroma. Thin, hoppy finish. (3/2/5/2/8 2.0)

Boy, did we have high hopes. Budvar. Even if they produce a non-alcoholic beer, it must be OK, right?? Screw that. Burning garbage lays on top of burning plastic in the nose. The body is metallic and tastes like all other N.A. beers with a mouthfull of garbage and crap added for good measure. Who cares about the finish when you taste and smell this? (Drank with four buddies, four drain pours!)

(330 ml bottle, fresh from Praha/Prague). Golden colour, moderate head. Initially weak aroma, some alcoholic sweet and flowery notes come along. Flavour is quite malty for a pale lager, rather alcoholic but not unpleasant, warming mouthfeel. Not too sweet. OKish, but not great.

Bottle. Golden color with a quickly disapearing head. Aroma is slightly malty, but very light and refreshing. Very light body that finishes clean. Very well balanced. Flavor is light malts, and light hops - touch of spice. This beer is good, but it's very subtle - nothing stands out from the rest. Easy to drink a lot of this.

2013-06-14, draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 5-4-5-2-10=26
Deep blond color with nice compact head. In few words, it has a huge butter aroma that covers the malt; the malt flavor is tired, the bitterness is ordinary, the hop qualities are missing; and there is again some diacetyl.

Blond color. Light hay aroma. Weak body, dry, quite bitter at the end. Not what I expected.

Draft, at the St. Petersburg, Russia airport lounge, May, 2004. Now this is what an "original pilsner" should taste like, not the poor, skunked bottle I rated last summer. Fresh from a well-maintained tap, it’s a fine-looking beer, gold color, with a good head. A golden malt flavor, too, but just mellow enough to let a wonderfully delicate floral hop character come through. The best beer I’d had after a week of standard Russian pale lagers.
And yet, I can see a bit of the flavor lineage to the American Budweiser... let’s just say the St. Louis product is severely de-volved from the prototype.
Original rating: Bottled. Oooh, looks like my first taste of this classic brew is from a skunked bottle. Still, it has a great spicy hop nose and a decent head. I almost got kind of an orangey hop taste. It’s simply more of a beer taste. I’ll hope to try this again soon and re-rate it.

Golden yellow/pale green tinges. Has a clean and crisp hopped aroma. Great saaz hops taste, with a medium body that provides a ton of pure lagered beer flavor. Even hints towards some bittersweet tones. Heavily carbonated and, true to the style, starts to taste a bit meaty and grainy as it warms. However this, when you drink it cold, its about as good a lager as they come.

Bottled. Golden coloured, average head. Bready nose with a light touch of oily hops. Light bodied and extremely drinkable, yet firm. Balanced bitterness.
