Description
Regional brewery that is very known for both it's own brands, as well as their contract brews.

In the period after 1850, the De Meester-Boelens brewery was founded at the current address in the Kerkstraat. in 1897 the name changed to Boelens-De Meester. Brewing stopped during World WarI, after the war the family continued the business as a bottling and beer enterprise. In 1978 Kris Boelens took over the beer business from his father. He reintroduced beer brewing in Belsele in 1993. In 2016 his son Yannick Boelens joined the brewery.

Pours uncler blonde. Small to no white head. Smell is swedt, bit esthers, honey, thick malts. Taste is sharp , esthers, sweet, honeymalty, bit simple. Not great at all.

33cl bottle. A almost clear orange golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of strong reddish malt, wood, red grapes, spices. Taste of red frruits, grapes, spices, belgian yeast, high carbonation.

Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke, shared with Anke and Pieter.
Dark house beer of said restaurant. Pours hazy dark brown with a frothy, tan head. The aroma contains hops, roasted malt, dark fruits (raisin), herbs and dark chocolate. It tastes medium fruity sweet, light raisin-like sour and medium hoppy bitter, with a slightly dry finish. Medium body, slick/watery texture (strange with that ABV), soft carbonation. Equally good balance between bitter and sweet in taste and aroma.

Bottle (thanks marduk). Pours golden. Aroma is fruity, citrus, yeast. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, citrus, sugar, yeast. Overall: okish.

Fles gedeeld met LiekevdV. Het is een goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft beetje en citrusgeur. De smaak is fris, fruitig en met een vleugje honing.

Bottle. Pours golden. Aroma is weak, booze, fruits. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, sugar, malt. Finish has some bitterness. Overall: not good.
