In the period after 1850, the De Meester-Boelens brewery was founded at the current address in the Kerkstraat. in 1897 the name changed to Boelens-De Meester. Brewing stopped during World WarI, after the war the family continued the business as a bottling and beer enterprise. In 1978 Kris Boelens took over the beer business from his father. He reintroduced beer brewing in Belsele in 1993. In 2016 his son Yannick Boelens joined the brewery.

Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus. Very hazy yellow color, small white head. Smell citrus, hops, bitter. Taste bitter, slightly spicy, slightly hops. Medium body, too much carbonation.

Not only the name is weird and bad. Orange to red colour with lots of yeast. Smells strawberry and banana syrup. Tastes like it smells, with some yoghurt and malts. Okay carbo, light body.

Bottle @ home, shared with Dutchdrebus and Thompson. Hazy reddish color, off-white head and a lot of yeast particals in it. Smells very sweet and very much like strawberry. Good work making a beer that has a real strawberry taste in it, but I just don’t like it in a beer. Low cabro, low body.

Hazy light brown colour. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Fresh, malty taste. Quite a prominent coriander flavour comes through. Light caramel in the aftertaste.

At GBBF 2011. Now i like my crap baelgian fruit beers and i like crap lagers as well. But this is pure rubbish. Hazy pink red. Doesnt even have the benefit of tasting like kids sweets. Shows that all countries can produce crap beer. Mostly pure rubbish as a beer

Bottle, 75cl corked, at De Heeren van Liedekercke. It’s an unclear, brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick, off-white to beige head leaving lacings. Cellar, prune notes, hints of chocolate and Belgian yeast as well as some caramel on the nose. The flavor is sweet, with chocolate and caramel hints, prunes and a fine hoppyness giving some bitterness. Full body, smooth and nicely carbonated. Mostly sweet in the end, but with bitterness trying to bring balance. A really pleasant one. 110501
