Bottle, 75cl corked, at De Heeren van Liedekercke. It’s an unclear, brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick, off-white to beige head leaving lacings. Cellar, prune notes, hints of chocolate and Belgian yeast as well as some caramel on the nose. The flavor is sweet, with chocolate and caramel hints, prunes and a fine hoppyness giving some bitterness. Full body, smooth and nicely carbonated. Mostly sweet in the end, but with bitterness trying to bring balance. A really pleasant one. 110501

750 ml bottle @ Heeren van Liederkercke. Amber body with a fine off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, burnt sugar and asparagus. Flavor is sweet and sour, malt, karamel, pepper, bitter and light oxidation. Medium body. A bit unusually and might be over the top, but otherwise quite OK.

Good dense white head over fully cloudy orange-ochre beer. Fresh, citrussy nose, some faintly sweet-smelling pale malts. Another one with oxydation, malty notes, only releived in the finish by some faintly spiced hosp. Every new sip gives this meaty, oxydized impression, the finish being more orangey or veggie. Slick, feeling pretty carbonated; medium bodied and not overly attenuated. Yes. Another one.

Small yellowish head over clear, darker golden beer. Vegetable nose with asparagus specifically; bit toasted, fresh-smelling. Toasted, frozen caramel and a vegetable lining, but not as finely aromatic as the nose promised. Light body, even watery. Absolutely nothing wrong with this. But as to originality... maybe the first tripel at only 6.5%?
