10/IV/2012 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: I/14 (2012-341)

Little cloudy dark blond beer, big creamy off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, sweet peaches, some citrus fruits, touch of exotic fruits (it's no USA hops, but the yeast, similar as in the Heerenbeer I had at De Heeren recently). MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: some citrus fruits, bit of sweet malts, fruity, little sugary sweetness, grassy bitter hops. Aftertaste: bit sweet, bitter hops, citrus fruits, some alcohol noticeable. WTF is with the low ratings? Guess my bottle is from a newer batch, and it's pretty decent now. No defects or weird smells.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy amber color, small off-white head that quickly becomes an off-white lacing. Smell malts, caramel, bread, herbs. Taste malts, toast, caramel, bread, herbs and a not so nice sour aftertaste. Medium carbo, low to medium body.

Bottle shared at DHL during Paul’s Pre-Wedding Beer Weekend. Pours cloudy auburn with a dense, foamy head. Fresh, piney and lightly yeasty aroma. Medium to big sweet flavor with toasted sugar, light caramel, bubblegum, spices, and very mild fruity tang. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Mildly warming to finish with sweet and toasty malts tinged with caramel, pine, some candi sugar, mild citrus. Dries out nicely with some sweet, toasty grassiness, mild yeast and dark, toasty candi sugar. Very good. Strong yet still highly drinkable.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a cloudy pale golden with a small white head. Yeasty and phenollic aroma. Medium body, an initial fruitiness but the phenols dominate the flavour profile in a negative sense. The finish contains both hops and quite some alcohol. 010412

Bottle. A slow gusher, producing a diminishing, off-white head over an unclear golden-orange body. Yeasty, fruity nose with something reminiscent of honey, as well as a good dash of white sugar and fruityness. Quite bitter flavor, that in a strange way don’t suit the beer. Pale malts, fruityness and some yeasty hints in the flavor. A strange one, certainly not my beer. 120330
