Description
Regional brewery that is very known for both it's own brands, as well as their contract brews.

In the period after 1850, the De Meester-Boelens brewery was founded at the current address in the Kerkstraat. in 1897 the name changed to Boelens-De Meester. Brewing stopped during World WarI, after the war the family continued the business as a bottling and beer enterprise. In 1978 Kris Boelens took over the beer business from his father. He reintroduced beer brewing in Belsele in 1993. In 2016 his son Yannick Boelens joined the brewery.

750 ml bottle at Zythos Beer Festival 2010. Clear yellow color, fluffy white head, good lacing. Aroma of orange peel, ginger. Heavily spiced taste, lots of malt, white pepper. Interesting.

Deep golden color, thick white head, good lacing. Aroma of black pepper, malt, citrus. Taste is loaded with malt, light spice, citrus, nice bitter finish. Smooth and drinkable.

Very good, fine-yellow head over hazy orange-yellow beer. Very pungent citruspeel, toiletsoap-like aroma, like dishwash liquid with lemon - OK, but a lot nicer than that sounds. Taste is even more spicy, less lemony. Coriander? Almost certainly ginger. Citruspeel? Spicy palte, medium bodied, big spicy aftertaste, even more warming up. Interesting variation on tripel indeed, but not my idea, unfortunately. The nose is intriguing.

Bottle. golden with an off-white head. Aroma is spices, fruit, malt. flavour is sweet, spices, yeast, fruit, malt, hop. Medium to full body. OK beer.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A hazy, pale golden beer with minimal, off-white head. Quite oily pour. Lovely fruity nose, sugary pale malts and a pleasant spice touch as well. Pale malts, sweetness, white sugar, spices and fruityness in the flavor. Some bitterness too, also in the finish. Sliglty oily mouthfeel, medium to full body, feeling quite dry. The aroma is the best part of this one, but it’s a quite nice beer anyhow. 091024

Cloudy, chunky golden color with a masive and fluffy white head that settles very slowly and leaves good lacing. Aroma of fresh bread dough and orange peel. Flavor has spice up from, probably cinnamon and nutmeg. Full body, lots of malt. But also a bit of a metallic finish. Decent enough, but strange ending.

Bottle as santa bee. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is miky sour, spices, caramel. Flavour is dried fruits, berries, honey, alcohol, spices. Medium body. Weird beer.

Bottle, as Santa Bee, from trade with jbrus. It gushed out of the bottles, leaving lots of floaties in the dark orange-brown body. Diminishing off-white to beige head. There’s some milky sourness in the aroma, a nice spice addition, almost glühwein-like, with caramel in the back. Honey-sweet flavor with chrismas spices and some caramel. Some bitterness in the finish, but mostly spices. Medium to full body. A quite nice beer, but a bit hard to understand. 091016
