Bottle from Burg Bieren, BB Aug 2016 (so bottled on Aug 2014), large sample. Dark copper color, big frothy light brown head. Aroma of slight roast, caramel, bit toffee, slight candy, bit spicy yeast, slight touch of wood. Bit sweet in taste, slight bitter, mostly from the malts. Bit dry in the finish. Quite complex, yet simple. Pretty good, but not extraordinary.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Strong malty aroma, notes of molasses and oak. Very malty flavour, again notes of molasses and oak, but not too sweet for an eisbock. Also some interesting spicy notes.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Biernavigatie.nl. Clear dark brown with a minimal beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and more in general roasted malts. Taste is sweet-bitter with the typical bitter aftertaste. A nice imperial stout, lighter and more accessible than most IRS powerhouses.
