Draught @ Tokyo Edo Week at Ueno Park. Pours orange with a small head. Aroma of fruits, pine, grass and herbal notes. Taste is crisp, hoppy and grassy with some pine, citrus and resin. Finish is crisp, herbal hoppy and grassy with some pine and resin. Pretty nicely hopped.

Pours orange, cloudy, some light white foam on top. Bit of lactic citrus in the nose. Sweet fruity feel plus some saison spice. Not very yeasty, probably citrus is balancing that. Taste has more saison spice, herbal and medium body. Not really getting much yuzu there, already faded or not that good extract that they get in Belgium. Light spice , sansho glow. Simple still and yuzu lost on me. Finish kind of lame, falls down.

Pale golden amber color. Nice subtly Yuzu nose that is fairly dry with some pepper and hoppiness. The nose is great but mouth kinda falls about. A bit too malty. It's ok, but not my thing.

Draught at the Ichinoseki Beer Fest 2017. Deep orange-gold with lace. very spicy nose, sansho and yuzu, saison eyast, bready malt. Very spicy flavor, tons of sansho in mine, though a later glass was much more balanced, yuzu. Crisp, tingly finish. Decent with the lesser amount of spice.

Marking IPA Day means I should crack out my IPA glass and scour the fridge for an IPA. This is Far Yeast first beer Brewer at their new brewery. Bottle from Yamaoka. A dark brown orange with a dense beige head. The aroma is a bit rough around the edges but gives you fruity US hops. Medium to light bodied with a fairly sharp finish. The taste is a bit sweet from the crystal malts while the taste is tangerine and stone fruit. It’s ok...

Tap at Osaka Beer Fes 2017. Deep hazy golden color. Nose is tropical fruit, quite nice, creamy, nicely malty flavor, a bit light overall. Lovely tropical fruit flavor from the hops. Good stuff. I think this is still made OEM. 7/4/7/4/15

330 ml bottle. Hazy reddish brown color. Small creamy tan head. Tart fruity toasted malt flavor has spicy notes from the sansho peppercorns. Midtaste hints at berries and cocoa. Smooth, easy drinking and complex. Some yeasty, dry, peppery notes in finish. Warming alcohol as well. Quite unique.

Tap at the Gifu Fest where I was hoping to try Tapecut IIPA but found this instead. A collaboration with Transporter on tap at the Gifu Fest, apparently dry-hopped with Mosaic. A clear amber-orange in color with a big malty sweet and dank resinous piney hop taste, I didn’t get much of anything mosaic like about it. I rated it higher when I didn’t know it was supposed to have mosaic - they probably added a minute amount for marketing purposes... ...still a good beer though.
