Keg at Pelt Trader. Great to see this in London! It pours jet black with a medium dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, bitter - sweet, coffee, liquorice, vanilla, cherry pie, toasted marshmallows, vanilla, treacle, brandy, eccles cake and toffee. The taste is rich, decadent, Big roasted malts, bitter -sweey, toasted marshmallows, dark fruits, dried berry, dark chocolate, toffee, honeycomb, umami, salted liquorice, vanilla, brandy, charred wood, fruit pie and a touch of spice with a smooth, warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth - feel. As it warms up some vinous/white wine notes come through. Incredible depth of flavour. Stays away from being too sweet or too hot. Pretty spectacular and one of the best UK imperial stouts I have ever had. Can get you messed up pretty easy.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a decent thin head. Nose - grapeskin and ripe kiwi. Light shandy. Taste - green apple and ripe grapes. Palate - light bodied with a long lean tight texture which extends through the finish. Overall - a good effort, even if not quite as tart and authentic as the originals.

Bottle from the Beerhive, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of sherbet, fruit and light varnish. Taste is grape skin bitter, lemon, kiwi. Dry finish. Good.

Bottle split at Rail Ale ’16, thanks to Garrold, 20/05/16. Pale straw to crimson colouration with a moderate off white head of bubbles. Nose is tarte berry, straw, funk, grain, light apple skin, must. Taste comprises raspberry pips, funk, damp straw, light citric acidity, tangy red berry, sharp berry infuse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, rising acidic bite leading to a puckering finale. Decent fruit lambic, one I’d certainly return to.

Cambridge Beer Festival 2016 as Adnams / Six Degrees North Imperial Stout. Black. Tan head. Intense aroma of liquorice, Japanese plum wine, of leather, whisky and gin. Tastes bitter with an intense alcohol sweetness. Black raspberry, biltong and motor oil (yes I know what it tastes like, I had a fucked up childhood) in the gooey caramel finish. Weird, frightening and good. Come to Cambridge and drink this shit up.

Bottle shared at Chesterfield Rail Ale Jolly with RB crew cheers to Garrold; hazy peach pour with a thin beige head, aroma has light funk and raspberry, taste has tart raspberry, hint of citrus, quite dry, some biscuit, sour finish, very good non Belgian lambic.
