Cask at Captain Alexander, Liverpool. Pours “bitter brown” with a small off-white head and good lacing. Floral hops and berry fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet but somewhat thin. Malts and caramel dominate the flavour with hints of traditional hops, honey and melon. Sweetness lasts into the finish. I suppose this is reasonable, but it’s rather bland. [ and IMHO not a Red IPA as it is neither red nor an IPA ]

8/3/2025. Cask at The Windmill, Stansted Airport. Pours clear deep amber with a frothy/foamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, biscuit, malt, orange peel, berries, touch of dried fruits. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with light fruity tartness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Some drying tangy fruitiness to finish. Quite nice.

Beer Number 5 at the Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2025, leaving 23 of 30 still untried. Dullish copper coloured, but clear with a bit of a glow so looks fine. Tastes fine too. Nice hop-malt balance. Some sweet berry fruits available.

Singapore holiday - day 12/13, at Colbar near Buona Vista MRT, a big bottle from the cooler. Aroma: a bit of coffee, barely perceptible. Appearance: Opaque cola, negligible tan lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and oily on the tongue, rather softish carbonation; long and lingering malty finish. Taste: medium-bitter with sweet notes, bags of chocolate, some coffee, a surprise hit of sherbet lemons to finish. Great stuff, just what I needed.

Cask handpull at Barrel Vaults St Pancras. Clear red copper colour. Lasting beige head. Lacks a little condition. Some red malt some amber malt
A little thin throughout. Needs a bit more behind it. Condition doesn't help a bit watery. Not a great red ale. Light spice. No real bitterness.
