Bottle from Eebria. Bloody hell I must of wrote this in a hurry... I think my near unintelligible scrawl says ’chestnut’ coloured pour, white head (it actually looks like ’chaste nun, what I said’) Aromas of toffee (toirse), caramel (that was an easier one to read) and citrus? (cars). Flavours of sweet citrus (looks like svelte chorus), caramel and some red fruit (rod fruc). Quite dry. Nice. Blimey! That was like transcribing Sanskrit!

Bottle from Eebria. Black pour, no head. Licorice, chocolate and treacle toffee aroma. Toffee, treacle and cinnamon flavour. Sweet action. Quite nice.

Bottle thanks to Mr Smith. It pours deep orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, toasty, orange rind, toffee, muffin and rhubarb & custard sweets. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, toasty, earth, sponge cake, spicy, boozy and soap with a sweet finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I rather like the aroma, but the taste is a bit all over the place. So-so.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from Eebria. Pours unclear orange with a foamy cap. Sugary pale bread on the nose with a bit of tangerine and orange. Medium sweet flavor with some grassy bitterness, grainy bread, pine, dried fruits. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly oily on the finish with ripe citrus, light alcohol, grainy bread.

Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Light haze golden orange fine white head. Aroma is nutty, hedgerow hop, berry, midget gem. Flavour is composed of light caramel, berry fruit, tropical, biscuit, strawberry. Palate is medium, semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Tangy fruit in the finish.

330ml bottle, thanks to blackhaddock. Shared at the Siren Rainbow tasting, Jan 15. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Taste is dubbel-esque dark fruits, rye-tastic but slightly sub-dued.

500ml bottle: BBE 11/2015. Poured into an 1980’s Schultheiss sleeve from Berlin at home in 02?2015. Beer obtained from the brewery. Clean, clear and bright: golden with a full creamy textured snow white blanket on top. Like most beers in this type of style the aroma is weak, some grass and grain hints, but nothing more. Nice blend of flavours within the taste, semi-sweet maltiness with a mini-hop bite at the end, again grass and grain like the nose. More than decent, I liked the full body, unusual for the style.

330ml bottle: BBE Jun 15 (Lot 829). Obtained from the brewery and broached on 26 Jan 15. Black with a dark tanned topping. The nose was sweeter than the semi-sour flavours and although chocolate notes could be found in the aroma dark fruits tastes gave the beer a tart feel and hide whatever sweetness there was or had been. OK, but not what I expected to be honest.
