Tasting at Matt’s; batch #3
Dark brown color. Earthy malts, some ass, coffee, some cheese. Smooth mouthfeel, strong roasted malt and coffee flavor without exceeding with the burnt character. Too earthy.

Draft: Poured a light reddish color ale with a medium foamy head. Aroma of light raspberry notes with some very subtle tart notes. Taste is a great mix of light tart raspberry notes with some cereal notes and a smooth finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Smooth drinking with just the right level of complexity.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, with a touch of coffee character in there. Flavour follows through, with dark cocoa, some roast, and light green pepper. Moderately roasty, with a finish of green pepper and cocoa. Not bad.

Aroma of soft fruity grains and some peach. Had a good foamy head and translucent brown body. Flavour is heavy grains, molasses, and dark syrup. Sweet finish, sugary. An okay barley wine.
