37,5 cl bottle @ Tuulensuu. Bottle #1342, BBE 06/2017. Aroma has sour cherry juice, woody and lactic tones. Flavour is rather juicy with lots of cherries, some spicy tones and some sweet berries. Like a gluhkriek with tartness added.

6th December 2014
Light hazer on this deep cherry red beer, small peachy pink head. Palate is light and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Tart cherry kicks off with a little raspberry backing it up. Turns sweeter in the mid bringing some contrast but overall a sourish beer. Light finish with fruits vibrant. Aptly named, very nice sour and sweet beer.

I bought a bottle at Hopduvel Gent and acquired another in a trade. Opened with 77Ships and others in Gent, Belgium. Bottle was pretty cloudy.

A - Very cloudy (mostly due to be transported) with a bright yellow creamy 2 finger head that faded to some stickies.

S - The nose is really nice! Lots of lemon, lime. Very grape forward with a nice dryness. smells really really good!

T - Okay, so the taste falls short. It starts really nice and then you get a sweet candy like taste in the middle. finish goes back to basics with a nice dry finish with a touch of port wine. I think currently, this beer is too sweet for me with maybe candy and jolly rancher sour.

M - Decent mouthfeel. Champagne like

O - I’d like to see if this fades so I’ll grab some bottles to keep for a few years. Good gueuze out of the gate and can get way better with time.

Updated - 11-10-2018: This beer has gained more lemon flavors, more hay, is far dryer now. I'm bumping the rating up from 3.5 to 4.0.

14/XI/14 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Sanne's birthday tasting (Gent) - BB: n/a, bottle #2581/2700 (2014-1326) Thanks to AdamJackson for sharing the bottle!

Bit hazy beige beer, creamy white irregular head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: smells a lot like Boon, bit dusty, lemony, funky, geuze. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter (Girardin touch?), sourish, soft funky stuff, dry, bit woody, some tannins. Aftertaste: bitter, lemony, bit buttery, Girardin lambic signature prevails in the flavour. Also: way too expensive! Seriously...

Bottle purchased from Gunther Bench . THNX ! Very curious about this one , since it is damn expensive. Yet if a beer is good enough, its worth it . Previous beers by Gunther have set the bar high so ... Pours dark and deep red . Small and rather fast fading white head . Smell is very full, fruit, some lambic notes . Swiming pool scent ( as I have many times with cherry-based beers, they usually are very nice than ) yet more complex than just cherries . Taste is very full as well . Cherries ( in your face ) with a raspberry undertone . Some lambic funk , as well as dryness ( from the wood, I suppose ) . This contains a ridiculous amount of fruit-flavor ( which might explain the price ) and that makes the beer ’sweet’ even though it clearly has a sour background . Perfect carbonation. Waaw, I like this ! One of the best fruitlambics I had , I must say . The only thing is that I do miss an aftertaste , as this beer almost has none ... With an aftertaste to it, it would very well be a new top favourite . As it is now ... Yes , it IS worth its money .
