Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 2/17/13

Aroma: The nose is mostly espresso/coffee, with some caramel malts, and mild earth
Appearance: This one pours a murky looking reddish color with a small beige head
Flavor: The taste like the nose, is coffee/espresso mostly, with a bitter coffee ground finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, it drinks fairly cleanly, has a tingly feel, and a dry, roasty finish
Overall Impression: I have mixed feeling on this one. On one hand, it is an interesting beer, but on the other hand it doesn't quite work. Still though, I like the concept of a coffee beer with an Amber (or other lighter style beer) base is an interesting one, and something I'd like to see another brewery try. Creative, but I like the idea more than the execution.

Associated Supermarket, Bushwick sixer ($11): Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is pine with some nondescript citrus bordering on lemon, along with pale malts. Taste is bitter simcoe throughout without much else happening. The maltiness is pretty lame. Nice pine, but without anything to back it up, this is just not interesting. Minimal aftertaste. Medium-light body. Meh.

Bottle. Pours deep brown-black with a medium tan head that dissipates with good lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, citrus, pine. Flavor is the same with heavy roasted malts and a pine/citrus medium bitterness. Lightly sweet, bitterness lingering long into the finish, almost a light astringency. Medium body.

Pours clear golden yellow with a small white head and no real lacing. Aroma is wheat, grain, a touch of spice, fruit (pomegranate). Flavor is the same with light sweetness and no bitterness. Light bodied. Meh.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 1/31/13

Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet and sugary, with leaves, tea, fruity notes, and a little caramel
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish-brown color with a tan head and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes mid-plus sweet, lots of odd leafy notes, some tea flavor, and a light-mid bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it drinks cleanly, with average carbonation, and a mild dryness
Overall Impression: This is some solid stuff, not a favorite for me, but sold stuff. There are a few different things going on, but overall, it works pretty well. For a winter beer with a nice low ABV, I could see this being an easy one to session. Interesting, but still clearly not great.

Cask at ACAT. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grassy hops with a bit of pine, a touch of onion and a grain back. Flavor starts with light grain and becomes grassy with a bit of pine and resin in the finish.

Aroma: The nose is hoppy and resiny, with caramel, toast, some earth, and some orange/grapefruit
Appearance: Pours an unclear dark reddish color with a beige head and some sticky lacework
Flavor: The taste is sweet and malty, with plenty of lasting hop bitterness on the finish
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it is sticky and chewy, a little astringent, with a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid one. The flavor doesn't quite live up to the really nice promise of the nose, but it is still a good beer. This is the most interesting thing I've tried from Peak Organic.

The color is dark brown with a somewhat light fluffy looking off-white bubbles that doesn’t leave much lacing on the glass. There are some smells of sugar and caramel. There are some faint hops but isn’t overly done. A medium body, smooth, and doesn’t have an aftertaste, but a dry sweet finish. Overall, this is a very good beer, I would buy this again.

It pours a clear copper color leaving the same color body. A nice one inch white foamy head appears and concaves to leave some nice foamy lacing around the sides of the pint glass. The body is light enough for some carbonation to be seen rising. The smell is all about the maple up front pretty much masking everything else even after some warming, I was hoping some other possible flavors might show up, but not this time. The taste is exceptionally sweet, perhaps a bit too much maple, I wasn’t expecting this. The palate is about a medium and very smooth, possibly because of the extra maple in this beer. Overall, I really wasn’t expecting this beer to be this good. Though its more of a dessert beer because of the sweetness, I’d probably have it again. I will say its very different for the style.

I poured it into a pint glass and a deep orange copper appeared with a clear body and a slight white head. There are some light hops and a bit of caramel come through in the aroma. The taste is sweet around some malts, sweet citrus and hops. The palate is light to medium with some harshness on the tongue. Overall, this is fairly easy to drink and I would have it again.
