At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of yeast, chocolate malt, light herbal notes and candied sugar. Flavour is quite sweet for a black saison, with bittersweet chocolate, candied sugar and loads of yeast. Very highly carbonated and becomes very sweet the more I drink. Decent.

On tap at Saraveza's IIPA Fest, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of resinous hops, tropical fruits very dominant (mangos and peaches) and caramel malt sweetness. Flavour bursts with tropical fruit goodness, loads of peaches and mangos, tons of grapefruit, citrusy, resinous hops, balanced by the perfect amount of caramel malt sweetness. Finishes on notes of grapefruit, citrus hops and just enough malts. Thick and chewy for a IIPA. Excellently executed!

Sampled on tap at PIB, pours a cloudy golden / copper with a small white head. Aroma of pale malts, some floral hops - pretty bland. Flavour of Belgian yeast, pale malts and not much else. Very boring and uninspiring - surprising from these two breweries.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy / opaque blood orange with a small white head. Aroma of pungent resinous hops, tropical fruits (mandarins, mango, pineapple and grapefruit), and a big malt backing. Flavour of resinous hops, grapefruit, bitter orange peel and sufficient malt backing. Dry and bitter. Delicious IPA.
