At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with medium tan head of big bubbles. Aromas of burnt coffee and heavily roasted malts with some lactose notes in the background. Dry, though a little oily. Flavors of roasted malts, sweetened coffee, and cola. A nice porter.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown with a creamy/foamy light tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate. Near full bodied. Flavor is dark malt (smooth), chocolate, and something bitter that might be coffee. It finishes arguably dry, and coffee bitter. Not espresso, but coffee. It’s a good drink.

Draught. It seemed to me to be a mess. Someone wanted to make a sake, someone wanted to make a plum wine and so they compromised and decided to make neither. Light plum aroma and taste edge to a rice-y body. Almost no finish. Pas op!

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany with light head. Aromas of brown sugar candy, roasted malts, and ripe plums/raisins. Flavors of plum skins, resin, burnt sugar, and roasted malts. Light bitter, dusty finish with a hint of spice. Petite quad? Maybe.Good enough to have with apple pie. But missing the body and depth of a real quad as a stand alone sipper.

On tap at the Alibi Room for the 400th beer list event, pours a deep dark amber brown win a small beige head. Aroma is very stereotypical of a porter, with light roasted malt, dry malts. Flavour of dry roasted malts, toasted malts, and dry cocoa. Awesome dry palate, with a full body for a porter. Great stuff!

On tap at the Alibi Room for the 400th beer list event, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted nuts, chestnuts, other dry dark fruits, and caramel malts. Flavour of toasted nuts, chestnuts, dry caramel malts, and slight spices. Definitely seems between a dubbel and quad, with spicy notes. Decent stuff.
