Description
Gigantic Brewing Company is an independent, crafty brewery located in the Southeast quadrant of the Peoples Republic of Portland. Brewer/Owners Ben Love and Van Havig are veterans of the Oregon brewing community.

At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

Draught. Dark brown/black with foamy white head. Spicy aroma. Malt roast in the spicy flavour. This is a dark saison, and probably should be a new type of bier. Spice finish with a bit of roast.

2013-01-12, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 8-4-8-5-16=41
Hazy golden color; creamy head. The aroma is hoppy, very fresh, with notes of toffee. The mouthfeel is very smooth, semi-dry; good malt and toffee flavor, with a very fresh and refreshing hopping. Long final, balanced.
Excellent.

2012-08-08, bottle from Central City Liquor Store, Surrey, 8-4-7-5-15=39
Hazy light amber color; medium sized head. Expressive aroma, harmonious citrus fruits mix. Very good toffee flavor, lean body, smooth mouthfeel; fresh hopping, with loads of soft resins and nice fruity touch; long final; overall, powerful but balance and well drinkable.
Excellent.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours orange amber with a creamy/bubbly white head. For me the aroma is both citrus and resin. Med + body. Frothy carb. Flavor is resin, floral and citrus. It’s lush. So good it could be bottle conditioned. Every quaff is a dream. Finish is bitter, but not humongously so. Excellent ale.

"We want to be the band that if we moved in next door to you, your lawn would die." -- Lemmy Kilmister. That’s the quote on the label. Awesome. Bomber. Pours hazy orange with a collapsing off-white head; leaves a ring of foam. Aroma is catty, citrusy, bready, cooked brussell sprouts. Taste is sweet, umami, a bit tart. That vegetal offnote comes through in flavor, too. I bought this for the Three Floyds connection. I’ve never heard of Gigantic before. This is I think the third Three Floyds collaboration I’ve had. They’re not distributed in my area so I’ve yet to try any of their official beers. Come this way, Three Floyds. I loved Bitch Please.

650 ml bottle. Pours a copper orange with medium head. Aromas of spruce, orange and apricot. Hoppy but not over the top. Fruity flavors (orange and grapefruit) with a bit of caramel and lots of malts. Very nice.

Tap at OBF. Pours golden amber. Creamy off-white head. Lots of fresh citrus hop for aroma. Med body. Flavor is smoothly hoppy. Not too harsh. But very, very hoppy. Finishes hoppy and bitter but not bitingly so.Very nicely done.
