Cask (handpump) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear medium orange amber color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity, nutty, caramel, earthy, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, nutty, fruity, sharp hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121205]

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, strong coffee, dusty coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, coffee, strong coffee. Tap East Open Brewhouse Fest. A hazy gold beer. GOLD? Little white head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. No real carbonation. This comes over as a Golden. Lightly floral with clean pale malt and a little marmalade hops. Touch of lemon. Smooth and semi dry finish.

Cask at Old Fountain. Thanks to Leighton for getting this one. Cloudy gold beer, residual white head. Smooth and semi sweet pale malt. Blackberry is pretty mild on the back end. Little lactose in the semi dry finish. It’s al right but feels a bit tired.

Cask gravity at SIBA BF SE Tonbridge Rugby Club. Clear gold beer no real head. Really tasty beer golden ale. Good stinging citrus hops.

Cask at the Old Fountain - London. Pours murky, grapefruit-gold with a light, white film. Ripe grapefruit nose, some leaves, faintly toasted pale malts. Light sweet flavor, more pale malts, light dough, leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mellow dryness to finish, mild dried citrus. Fine beer, pretty tasty, but not really much blackberry character.

Cask at the Black Heart. Hazy amber beer, small bubbly off white head. Palate is light, smooth and semi dry. Low carbonation. Sweetis malts, mild and lactose and caramel. Mellow orange and grapefruit bitterness. Finishes smooth and dry. Stodgy and tired, another poor condition cask at Black Heart.

Gravity cask at Tap East during the Open Brewhouse Festival - Stratford, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a fine, creamy white head. Some dusty pine and lightly toasty brown bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry and semi-ripe citrus fruits, toasty bready malts, light bitter earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, nice pine and orange, some dry bread. Very tasty stuff.
