Pigs Ear. Clear dark brown beer, little tan head. Neutral palate with moderate carbonation. Dry. Rich coffee, espresso and slightly tangy. Trace of malt sweetness. Not much else to report. Unapologetically a coffee beer!

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a fine, bubbly white head. Gorgeous aroma of dank pine and juicy, ripe citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with great balance, plenty of pine, grapefruit and leaves. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with semi-ripe orange, tangerine, light citrusy tang. Excellent session beer. Takes the ESB style and brings it into the 21st century. Perhaps the best beer of the festival.

Cask, half-pint at Euston Tap. Low, creamy white head blanketing the upper level of the glass. Next to clear, copper coloured body. Floral hoppy aroma. Taste of fresh fruits added by green tea and honey sweetness. Mild floury notes. Bittersweet ending. Quite well bodied. Satisfying (London, 27.11.2012).

On tap at Euston tap with Sarah. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a note of slightly musty grains with some earthy leaves and a hint of grapefruit. Flavor has light citrus hops and some grapefruit with an underlying grass and hay note.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; This one is a grower first sip I thought nothing special but as I went the hops & rye exploding on my tongue. Great beer will be trying again.
