Bottle; Big pine and citrus hop nose; Gark copper colored with a huge, glass- lacing cinnamon tinged head; malty flavor with caramel and some hop bitterness which develops into a nice bitter hop finish after 10 or 15 seconds.

Pours liquid amber into a tulip. Head quickly subsides. Sweet candi aromas. Dry coriander and caramel. Very similar to a Stille de Nacht, but less full bodied. A very close second.

Bottle; Nose of caramel, vanilla, banana, and yeast; hazy gold with a small white head; flavor shows the coriander, orange, caramel, and a light banana ester, with a little alcohol shoing as the finish in the medium body.

Much thanks to Joebrew for sharing this excellent beer. Very comparable to Peche Mortel. Aroma is strong with coffee and roasted malt. A black beer, very little head and lightly carbonated. Flavor has a lot more coffee, but also bitter chocolate and sweet fermenting fruit flavors including raisin. The palate is excellent and makes the good flavors that much better.

0.75L bottle from 2006 shared with crizay and Degarth. It poured very very dark with tall frothy light brown head. The aroma has a strong coffee influence along with some sweet caramel. The flavor is very smooth and creamy and velvety. I taste French roast coffee beans (lots of coffee), sweet caramel, semi sweet chocolate, toffee and a light dark fruitiness. Silky smooth and delicious flavor with absolutely no sense of the ABV. Wow, great beer.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a slightly hazy amber with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of citrus and caramel. A great, full body with plenty of caramel and distinct aroma hops also leaving a solid dose of bitterness. 011206

An amber beer with a light brown head. The aroamis sweet with a dusty hop note, while the flavor is sweet malty with a thick note of caramel, the alcohol is more felt, than tasted.

12/02/06 Walk the Line Barleywine Festival, Dunedin, FL. 1999 vintage sampled from a 0.750L bottle. It poured a hazy brownish orange with tan head. The aroma was light with burnt oak, sweet caramel. The flavor was smooth fruity kind of sweet red wine maybe, vanilla, caramel and sweet candy orange. Delicious.
