375ml bottle, as ’Fine Perry Season 2015’, from Olivers Cider Farm, Herefordshire. Pours clear yellow. Aroma is light, moderately sweet Blakeney Red perry fruit. Taste is balanced, with good perry fruit presence, not particularly complex or overly sweet, quite refined with good subtlety of flavours. Nice afternoon perry.

330ml screw-cap bottle from Olivers Cider Farm, Herefordshire. Pours murky orange. Aroma has an alluring deep, lightly caramelised apple sweetness. Taste is smooth and perhaps not as rough or coarse as expected, with soft apple mush and just enough furry tannins on the tongue. My kind of scrumpy.

750ml bottle from Olivers Cider Farm, Herefordshire. Pours clear pale gold. Aroma of pleasant, lightly sweet perry pear fruit. Balanced perry fruit taste, moderately sweet, clean and fresh with just the lightest carbonation.. has a lot of fruit for 3.7%, which the keeving process no doubt helps, but definitely works for the perry pears used. Very good.

Box @ GBBF ’17. Pours a deep blood-like purply red. Aroma of light blackcurrants. Taste has vibrant integrated blackcurrants, not overly rich, nicely sharpened with a good fruity tang. For a cider-black, it’s well balanced and thankfully not too sweet. Very good.

Polypin at GBBF. 5.3.% It pours hazy golden with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is funky, musty, dirty, barnyard, wood, vanilla, manure, slurry, stone fruits, tang and candy. The taste is bitter - sweet, tangy, sour, bright acidity, sherbet, apple juice, tannin, citrus, alcohol hit and wood with a drying finish. Medium body and flat. Aroma is very funky. Interesting and good fun.

Polypin at GBBF. It pours clear pale greenish yellow with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet m, juicy, tangy pear, candy, fruit pie, gooseberry and some Barnyard funk. The taste is bitter - sweet, juicy, tangy, fruity, pear, white grape, gooseberry and a touch of funk with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body and flat. Pretty approachable and fun.

Cask at GBBF 2017, day 2 - London. Pours clear, pale yellow with a small, bubbly head. The nose holds tangy pear, honey, some biscuit. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with some salty sweat, alcohol, juicy pear, lemony acidity. Medium bodied, soft, and lightly oily. Warming finish with more juicy, jammy pear, salty sweat, some tangy citrus. Good fun.

Cask at GBBF 2017, day 2 - London. Pours mostly clear yellow with a frothy, white topping. Well ripened apples in the nose, some tangy lemon, a little funky hay. Medium sweet flavour with sugary apples, some musty dryness, bitter skins. Medium bodied, soft. Dry and a little musty in the finish, more sugary apples, honey. Not bad. Fun.
