Description
Real cider and perry from the county of Herefordshire in England.

Oliver's make a selection of fine Herefordshire ciders and perries with an emphasis on "balance" and "character" coupled with "drinkability".

Based around the spontaneous ferment of selected varieties of cider apple and perry pear from fruit grown in Herefordshire and the surrounding 3 Counties orchards.

Nominally referred to as "minimal intervention", we strive to "take what the fruit gives", respecting the great heritage and traditions of the past but with an eye to innovating for the future. What that really means is we mill and press great fruit, expose the juice to marauding and hungry wild yeasts and then for our part blend and bottle the resulting ferments.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Christmas Tasting. It pours clear golden - amber with a medium white head. The nose is musty, funky, sweet apple pie, apple cake and stewed pear. The taste is bitter - sweet, tart fruits, juicy, apple skin, candied peel, lemon sherbet, must and mild tannins with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good depth of flavour and balanced. Pretty delicious stuff!

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear gold with a few bubbles scattered about. The nose holds musty apples, light peel, dry funk. Light to medium sweet flavour, with dry and musty apple skin, semi-ripe apples, a little grassy bitterness, wood. Medium bodied with delicate carbonation. Sweet finish, but still quite dry and musty. Quite good overall.
