Capped 750 from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is lightly, lightly smoky with something like a non-sour Berliner Weisse background. Med body, almost. Flavor is lightly smoky, and there’s something like earthy lemon. It’s certainly not sour, but it is arguably tart. It’s certainly different, and it’s working pretty well on a hot evening. I’m liking it more and more.

Bottle - bought at the behest of my physicist wife :). Pours clear golden yellow with some small floaties. Medium fizzy white head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving a residual that nevertheless laces well. Aroma is very saison-like, yeast, grass, smoke, coriander. Flavor is about the same, noticeably but delicately smoky, a bit fruity, a lot of yeast character. Light sweet, no real bitterness. Just a touch of tartness, some peppery spice. Light bodied, prickly carbonation in the mouth. This is quite a nice beer actually!

from a 750ml bottle bought at Peluso in Montreal. Aroma: cereal and grain with little lemony accents and Candi sugar. Appearance: Hazy blond / straw developing an average thickness head, creamy and long lasting. Head is sticking well to glass leaving a good lacing. Taste: We can well feel the Belgium yeast doing the work here with peppery and acid notes. Hops are at work also, leaving a floral bitterness that last for a long time. Acidity and bitterness are the main characteristics of this beer. Flavor notes are light but mainly Candi sugar, pepper, grain and cereal. A farm taste with a slight acidity. A good traditional season within style.

Aroma: Very slight accents of cereal and caramel with a bit of barley sugar. Nose not sticking out much. Appearance: Amber / brown, slightly hazy, average thickness, density and lasting for head, with a very nice lacing. Taste: Attack is showing a good mix of cereal and hop. Bitterness is settling more at the end and is lasting in mouth for a long time. Second zip is showing more grain with little notes of caramel. Finish is hoppy with a long lasting bitterness. A well balanced beer without any extravagant flavor but simple and pleasant. Would make a good everyday beer.

Bottle from State Line. Pours cloudy gold with big fluffy white head. Nose and taste of freshly baked bread, fresh sugared cereal, citrus, pear, pie crust, yeast and spicy grassy hops. Soft carbonation. Medium body. Really nice balance. The best beer I’ve ever had in this style by far. I usually hate this style, but I wanted more of this. In fact, I might drive 3 hours just to get another bottle. It’s just that good.

Bottle: Poured a bright orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of light fruity hops notes with semi-sweet caramel malt base is interesting. Taste is mostly dominated by fruity hops with some semi-sweet ca5ramelized malt and light floral finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Overall this was an enjoyable experience though this is far form a variety of hops that I enjoy.
