(hiver 2006-07)

This stuff smells exactly like Christmas cake, which I find odd, but not entirely unpleasant. The body is a nice brown-burgundy but there’s no head, which kind of makes sense as it was served hot. Flavour is sweet beer and Christmas cloves, followed by a sweet finish. It’s just like a gluhwein; it needs more to make the beer-ishness of its situation stand out.

A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. A superb dark coffee aroma, with bitter chocolate notes, light fruityness, some chalky notes. In mouth, a good intense coffee, light alcohol warmth, hops points, some licorice and light menthol. Rich and smooth. On tap at brewery, Dec. 4 2010.

Courtesy someone at Fruit in the Room, thank you. Pours deep copper with modest off white head. The aroma is tart and spicy and a little bit of floral hops with some sweetness in the background. The taste is similar with spicy to tart hop notes leaning toward a sense of acidic like tartness with a smooth sweet sugary malty backbone.

A reddish copper ale with a very thin off white head. In aroma, oily caramel malt with maple notes and treacle. In mouth, a rather bizarre oily biscuitty malt with blue cheese notes, rather unpleasant, some British hops in finish. On tap at V&V, August 15 2010.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a huge light dirty brown color head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of funk and farmyard is quite intense with some light apricot and some light spices. Taste is quite complex to describe though yeast is properly the main component that produces a very funky taste with light fruit notes of apricot and candy. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation. Very well brewed and somewhat disappointed that I can’t find this more easily.
