Aromas are malt, honey, black pepper, dry grain. Flavors are similar to nose and bittersweet. Decent carbonation and body. Lately sweet finish with just some bitter to balance. Not bad not great.

Can.
A- Brown color, slightly opaque liquid, light brown head.
A- Smoke, cocoa, roasty.
F- Smoke, char, cocoa.
T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smoky finish.
O- The smoke was definitely more forward that I expected. More like a rauch than a stout, in fact, I wanted a stout that had a hint of smoke. The abv needs jacked up on this one. Decent.

Undated can drunk 12/4/25, as pictured.
Lotta oak! Nice and aromatic without too much astringency or heavy tannin, though it does feel on the dry side. Very light chocolate character behind it with no sugar or alcohol. Does seem VERY oaky, somewhat dominant in the nose, even if it is lovely.
Very oaky in the flavor, as well. Some mild whiskey-like spice and sweetness with mild chocolate-like character. The body isn't thin, but it is fully attenuated, leaving the oak to be, perhaps, slightly unbalanced in proportion, with zero sweetness or chewiness to soak it up/balance it. Maybe could have used a bit higher proportion of fresh/young unbarreled beer? Still excellent flavors, despite the high dryness.

16 oz can. Aroma has notes of clove, old books, dusty basements, hint of banana, pine. Pours lightly hazy golden with a large off-white head with good retention. Taste is lightly dry with some background hoppy bitterness; it’s a little bland and lacking the character teased by the promise of the great aroma. A bit watery. A good but not entirely successful attempt at an authentic Belgian golden ale.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy orange/ golden pour, thin layer of fine white head. Big yeasty aroma, biscuity. Taste melds in some fruity flavors, sourdough bread, Belgian yeasty, grassy.
