Tap at Dig. Cloudy gold with lace. Nose of apple, apricot, interesting fruit. Dry flavor, peaches, apricot, a bit of funk. Bitter finish. Wild beer, dry, interesting. Crisp and fun and got better as it warmed.

2016 re-rate: Bottle shared. Different beer clearly. Lovely musty nose with cobwebs and basement notes with a hint of wood. Lots of carbonation with some earthiness and almond-like cherry pit notes. Dry finish. Pretty solid. Bottle from Hasegawa. Pours a deep, clear brown with no head. Light brett aromas on the nose with some blackberry and vinous notes. Very, very soft carbonation (almost zero to be exact) with a watery mouthfeel. Very vinous without much malt to support the brett and wine-like flavors. It’s like a wannabe lambic with no carbonation. Flavor isn’t terrible, but still another Songbird beer needs a lot of work. Seems like they have some interesting ideas, but just can’t put it together. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brett Table Beer on 29 Oct 2015 at 21:48 - Score: 5

Bottle from Hasegawa. Pours a pitch black with purple/ruby highlights and no head. Aromas of wild blueberry and vomit. Watery, thin body with a slightly tart yogurty character. Carbonation is flat. There is some light goaty flavors on the palate and what seems to be lacto. This is weird for sure, more like a wild ale after drinking. Better than the lavender, but still need a lot of work needed. --- Beer merged from original tick of Myrtille Noir on 26 Oct 2015 at 22:21 - Score: 4

Bottle from Hasegawa. Pours a murky brown with purple highlights. Lavender bomb on the nose with some light cinnamon and mint. Body is super thin on the palate with watery mouthfeel. Way too much lavender in this thing. Lavender is one of those flower/herbs that you only need a dash of and it’s been way overdone to the point of some grassy lavender stem bitterness on the finish. Slightly chalky, drywall character with old cardboard on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dark Lavender on 26 Oct 2015 at 22:08 - Score: 3

Keyaki Fall 2015. Hazy blonde with a small white head. Grainy nose with some biscuit and light lemon. Soft carbonation and light to medium light body. Light, lemony bitter finish. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Golden Bitter on 21 Sep 2015 at 16:41 - Score: 6

Keyaki Fall 2015. Clear golden color with a nice soapy white head. Aromas of lemon, grass, pepper and crackers. Very nice carbonation and light spiciness. I don’t really like a lot of blondes, but I thought this was very well done with a little interesting Belgian funky yeast component. --- Beer merged from original tick of Blonde on 21 Sep 2015 at 16:15 - Score: 7

Fall Keyaki 2015. Slightly hazy copper with a small off-white head. Light bacon and toffee on the nose. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Smoked flavor is there but quite muted. Still not bad. Just pretty one-dimensional. --- Beer merged from original tick of Smoked Mild on 21 Sep 2015 at 16:21 - Score: 7

Tap. Fruity nose, lightly spicy from the Belgian yeast, lemon and biscuits. Sweet, fruity, almost dries out in the finish but doesn’t get get there. Soft, silky body. A good start from this new brewery. Slightly more hop definition and attenuation and this would be great.
