Brisk hop nose, floral, guava, light grapefruit, rich bitterness, lots of hops, still pretty lean on the malt. Tastes Californian.

Bottle. Clear copper with an inch of white head that fades to a coat. Typically vibrant aroma of passionfruit, lychees, pine, marijuana, pepper. A little toasted caramel sweetness and lots of tropical fruit. Fairly bitter, a little earthy and quite peppery.

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA.Pours clear copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is bready/hoppy. Med body. Foamy carb. Flavor is rather grassy hop over a mildly roasted malt. Almost more pale ale than IPA. However the quantity of hop is sufficient to give a mild hop burn. For some reason it makes me think of California Common. Lots of bitter finish along the back sides of the tongue. Description lacks, but the ale does not. Very nice.

500 ml bottle from Winooski Beverage Warehouse. The color is nearly clear gold with head that lasted half the glass on a vigorous pour. Aroma is mostly fruit hops. (Grapefruit and mango) Flavors is again grapefruit upfront, sweet malts with a light resin in the finish. It’s sweeter than expected. Or the hop profile is falling off. Bitterness is lightly lingering. No date code on the bottle. Hard to know the amount of time it sat on the shelf. That being said, I bet this would be great on draft and still a nice drink in this bottle.

550 ml bottle from Winooski Beverage Warehouse. English pint shows the typical color with a thin tan head that died to nearly nothing. Nose and taste is that of the most standard Imperial stout. Coffee, roasted notes, light vanilla and a touch of charred malt. All the right flavors are found here yet it leaves something to be desired. No element really stands out. I guess it’s better than some standard stouts over all. Dry texture with a good amount of dry sweetness.

Bottle with a best before of September 25, 2013. Pours with a full golden hued body and a large, fluffy eggshell white head with good lace and retention. Massive and fresh hop aroma! Grassy, huge tropical fruit with kiwi, lychee and mango. Mild passionfruit and Nelson like fruitiness. Mild malt. Huge tropical fruit flavor as well. Floral, grassy and passion fruit, balanced bitterness, low minerality, bready malt backing. Well made. Very dry finish, assertive. Medium bitter balance, crisp. Lively bubbles and slightly warming.

Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear orange hued body with a medium sized off white head. Aromas are of crystal malt, caramel, melon, pine, soil, resin and tropical fruit. Low ester. A bit too much of a crystal malt aroma for my tastes in IPAs. Grassy. Flavors are quite bitter, grassy, low hop character, fruity, some minerals. Medium malt presence (less than the aroma), clean yeast wise. Bitter balance. Lively carbonation, medium bodied. Slightly underwhelmed, I was expecting slightly more from them.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Vanilla and oak aroma with light pine. Oak and grapefruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with oak. A little messy between hops and oak.
