Description
The history of BrewBaker began back in 2005 - with a small, fine restaurant with its own brewery at Bellevue S-Bahn station. After a few intermediate stops, we set up shop with BGM Berliner Getränkeemanufaktur GmbH in Sickingenstrasse in Moabit from 2013 to May 2019. BGM and Brewbaker have been going separate ways since June 2019. With immediate effect, living beers UG will take over the marketing of Brewbaker. A new production facility is being planned.

(Draught at the brewpub) Poured copper coloured and almost clear with medium sized and white head. Aroma contained sweetness, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, lightly saltiness, sweetness, hops, grass, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Could have been a Belgian brew, too.

(Draught at the brewpub) Poured deep dark brown and cloudy with medium sized and white head. Aroma contained sweetness, mildly tar and hint of grilled sausage. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, molasses, mildly smoke, lightly tar, some burntness, roastedness and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was mildly sweet and lightly bitter. In general, the brew tasted not clean enough, a bit like an average home-brew.

300ml, draught, served at a proper drinking temperature at the brewpub. Dark with a rusty tint. Tiny, beige head, fragile glass-lacing. Semi-sweet aroma of dark malts. Chocolate malts together with bitter fruity hints in flavour. Ashy dry texture. A bit thin on the swallow, however, the best one at the pub. I didn’t ask for the alcohol strength, but not more than 5%, I would guess (Berlin, 24.11.2009).

100ml taster served at a perfect drinking temperature at the brewpub. Near-clear, amber body. Firm lacework on the glass. Sweet malty to the nose with hints of pumpkin far behind. Display of sweet pumpkin and caramel malts in flavour. Rounded bitter ending to overcome some of the sweetness. Good without being great in any way. The best beer at the pub was yet to come (Berlin, 24.11.2009).

Draught@brewpub. Slightly hazy amber color, steady creamy beige head. Light dish water and spicey aroma. Sweet malty flavor with ginger spiceyness. Semi-light, sweet brew. Ginger is fortunately not dominating.

Draught@brewpub. Amber-red color, medium-sized creamy beige head. Strong red currant aroma. Earthy, a bit berryish (red currant) flavor then in the finish strong chilli spiceyness. Interesting, although not anything I would like to drink on daily basis.
