12 oz. bottle. 2017 bottling, I think. Pours black, with a small, fizzy, brown head that disappears very quickly. The nose is maple syrup, coffee, soy sauce, licorice, and black pepper. Quite sweet, and just a little bitter. Heavy body, with a thick, syrupy palate. This is an assertive and tasty stout. Might be a little too old...

Clear golden coloured body with a soft white head, about a centimetre tall. Aroma of pale malt, a touch of wheat and lighter grain with some mellow sugars and just about nothing else. Light-bodied; Strong malty flavour at first with some wheat and pale malt and a dose of citrus noticeable towards the end and perhaps a small amount of sugars, but not from the fruit - just pure caster sugar. Aftertaste shows the grainy flavours and a small sweetness to balance out a soft bitterness from the malts and only the faintest bit of fruits noticeable at the end make this slightly interesting. Overall, a pretty subdued beer throughout, with not much to become excited about, but nice to sample and a good beer for the middle of summertime perhaps when you want something light and refreshing. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet Wine Cellars in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$1,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 22-January-2019 during a surprisingly warm evening here in Winter.

The Aromas are dark malt, a little bit of roast, and the hint of root beer. Appearance had a very fizzy short-lived head on a dark colored beer. The finer qualities of this beer as advertised don't really come through. I get some molasses bit of burnt sugar a little spice and boredom.

750 c&c from Bruisin' Ales. Pours clear, but very, very darkly ruddy with a tan head that didn't want to stick around very long. Tart, nearly sour aroma with dark fruit notes. Med plus body. It's a Flanders red/brown, but a deal more tart than expected - hints of paint thinner. Dark fruit like cherries and ripe figs. Tart rather than bitter. Pretty good - the paint thinner dissipates with mouth fatigue. It's turning more tame with time.

Awesome BBA impy stout. Coffee, dark chocolate, anise, spicy oak, vanilla, caramel, and bourbon, all kept thankfully dry and bitter. Sweet around the edges, boozy at the center, and good all around. Kicks ass.

750 c&c from Bruisin' Ales. Pours hazy orange/gold with a transient off-white head. Mildly tart stone fruit aroma - pale fruit. Like apricot. Med body. Flavor is fairly tart apricot. Not specifically getting Brett, but time may tell. Moderately acidic. A bit much for my preference, but the flavor is nice.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/15/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy pineapples, pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and biscuit dough; with light notes of honey, toast, pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit puree, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy pineapples, pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and biscuit dough; with light notes of honey, toast, pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit puree, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness, and tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly acidic/tangy, and lightly tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 9%. Overall this is an awesome imperial fruited kettle sour. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit puree, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Awesome balanced juicy/jammy fruits and Lacto complexity; with a nice sized pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Not overly sweet from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.
