Can from Connolly's Wine Merchants. Pours a dark ruby red with small off white head. Aroma of roast, caramel, almonds, chocolate. Taste is more salty than caramel noted in truth but there is a nice roasty bitterness that runs through and almond milk gives it a softer nutty note. Medium bodied and slick mouthfeel. I like it.

330ml can. Hazy amber with thin white head, minor retention. No huge aromas but getting a sweet and slightly grainy malt, stone fruits and a touch floral. Taste is grains, pineapple, light caramel, grass, confectionary; nice. Almost medium bodied but smooth with a carbonation that works well. A pleasant but unassuming beer.

330ml can from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Called 'Sour Brummie'. Pours a cloudy purple with small pinkish head, looks good. Aroma of of light grainy malts, blueberries and vanilla. Not intense with aroma but pleasant. Taste is also restrained but pleasant. Blueberries come through with some tartness, vanilla, grainy malts in background, slight herb-medicine in the finish but I didn't find unpleasant. Light bodied, quite refreshing. I like it.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy tan head and good lacing. Roasted malts are prominent in the aroma together with hints of chocolate and dark fruits. In the mouth it is quite sweet, but with a little underlying sharpness. Flavour starts off as biscuits and honey, but later dark fruits come through plus traces of dark fruits and ginger leading to a tangy finish. This is quite decent.

The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a light, slightly watery, smooth, green grassy, light dry spicy hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.
