Bottle @ FOneFan. unclear dark amber with small tan head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, dried fruits and yeast. Flavour is malt, yeast, sweet, caramel, dried fruits, little toffee, candy with notes of alcohol.

Bottle @ Mid March Tasting, Ulfborg 2012. Pours ruby amber with a small creamy beige head. Yeast and alcohol. Heavy phenolic. Liquorice and rubber. Fruity and hot.

Tap @ De Nederlandse Brettanomyces Dagen In De Wildeman. Amber color, hazy, no head. Aroma’s of sweet/sour fruit, bandage, green apples. Flavor is lightly sweet and very lightly sour. Light body. Finishes rather bitter. Highlight of the day for me.

Bottle at T’Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 03.03.12 Hazy gold in colour with a large overflowing white head (huge billowing frothy head) Yeasty nose and yeasty in mouth. Quite dry and fruity with good underlying sweetness. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam, 03.03.12 consumed at home 04.03.12 Pours black or at the very least extremely dark brown with a light beige head. At first I wasn’t so keen, coming after the Schans Bierkoning Labelles Chocolade Stout the lack of chocolate and sour fruitiness did little to endear me but after a while it grew on me. Fruity with a good tangy sourness, some chocolate touches but not so many, good roastiness and a little harsh dark bitter chocolate. good beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottle @ home. Almost black colored beer, a red glow comes through when you hold it into the light. The aroma is a weird combination of roastyness, earth and malts with sweet-sour hints and cherries. Interesting, but I don’t really like the combination. Taste is another mix of some roastyness, malts, cherries and sweet-sour with the sour dominating a little. Again I have to say it’s an interesting experiment, but not really my thing. Slightly oily texture, medium carbonation, low to medium body.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, ABV 6.5%. Black colour, big dense beige head. Looks like a stout. Aroma of hard roasted malts, loads of berries, tart, bitter chocolate. Flavour is light sweet, tart berries, hint of cherries, hard roasted malts, light coffee, sour cherry skin, bitter chocolate finish. Medium bodied. I quite liked this. The label says it’s a dubbel with cherries added, but to my taste this is more of a tart porter/stout type of beer.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Color is as good as black, opaque. Big, mocha colored head that retains. Aroma: chocolate cake, fruit/cherries, but not fresh), sweet malt, a bit tart. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly sour. Medium bodied. Finishes with some ash and bitter. Nice experiment, but not really my cup of tea.

Bottle @ home. Very dark brown colored beer with a solid, decent sized light brown head. Smell malts, roasted malts, caramel, bread. Taste roasted malts, hint of caramel, nicely bitter. Well balanced. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Bottled 330ml. -from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Black coloured, medium sized brown head, light roasty and hoppy nose. Light roasted malt, chocolate and rather hoppy with dry bitter finish. Some traces of coffee also. Expected better porter. 6.5%
