On tap at ’t Arendsnest. Hazy dark copper colour, off white head. Aroma is almost absent at first, later on grassy and resiny hops, light sweet, green leaves. Flavour is light sweet, grassy, leafy, light fruity, bittersweet finish. Light bodied. Not very good imo.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest, ABV 6.9%. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee, light spicy. Flavour is hard roasted malts, coffee, light spicy, bit like a Belgian stout. I actually think they switched the Mamba Porter with a Lambok barrel, so I’ll try to get hold of a bottle of this. If not, this is a nice medium bodied porter-like bock. Re-rate: 33cl Bottle. Barrels weren’t switched, this is a Belgian Stout disguised as a Bock. Nice.

Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, burnt roasted, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, brown sugar sweet, peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, coffee, coffee beans. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate malt, licorice. On tap @ Arendsnest (edition 2010). Dark muddy appearance, no head to speak of. Aromas of roasted malt & fresh hops. Flavor is roasted and a bit bitter, as the beer warms up some malty sweetness comes up. Finishes mildly bitter with some roast and herbs. Quite a well balanced beer this time from Ramses, and a very nice bock.

On tap @ Arendsnest. Pours a red color (with quite a bit of yeast) with a thick, rocky, off-white head. Strong smell of citrussy hops, a bit herbal/resin, and some malty sweetness. Very juicy hopflavor, without being very bitter. Medium bodied. Mild bitter finish. Like other beers from Ramses: maybe not perfectly in balance, but good nonetheless, and definitely worth trying.

33 bottle from de Bierkoning. Pours a dark brown color, with a fine beige head. Aroma is sweet, coffee, hints of vanilla and spices. Taste is sweet and roasted, and finishes with a nice balance of sweetness, roast and spices. Pretty good, just like the other beers I’ve had from this brewer.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Deep dark brown to black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet, hard roasted malts, vanilla, coffee and cream. Flavour is sweet, sugary, hard roasted malts, some juniper, light hoppy, coffee and sugar finish. Medium bodied. Soft mouthfeel. Too sweet imo.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Almost black color. Massive, lasting beige head, good lacing. Aroma is roasted, coffee, spicy, a bit fruity. Taste is roasted and bitter. Quite thin bodied. Roasted and bitter finish. Like Ramses’ Hop, not very well balanced, but I still like it.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour with a red hue, brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits, light sweet. Flavour is sweet coffee, roasted malts, fruits, dry bitter roasted and light hoppy finish. Light bodied, a bit thin at times, especially considering ABV.
