Almost black in colour. Thin lacy head. Quite a thin texture. Most of the flavour comes through in the finish. Lots of bittersweet malt. Hints of bitter coffee.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy gold beer, good white head. Smooth but dry palate. Delivers on it’s label! Bitterish orange hops but the palate is annoyingly dry and distracting. Bitterish aftertaste. Good flavour. Crappy palate. 2.7

Pacific Gem version. Why is this merged? Different beer! Hazy gold beer, good white head. Soft palate, airy with fine carbonation. Soft creamy malt, very soft and luxuriant. Nice hops - light lime and floral notes with lesser mellow marmalade in the smooth finish. Limey mellow bitter linger. Really enjoyed this!

Bottle from Bier Koning. Cloudy blond beer, fluffy white head. Soft airy palate but a little overcarbonated. Light frothy malt. Some bittering orange at the back end. More light malt - slightly chalky. Meh!

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Nice dark redbrown color, beige head. Aroma’s of caramel, some roast & red fruit, fresh hops. Flavor is rather bitter and sweetish. Mouthfeel is thin and that’s the only downside of this beer. Nice herbal and bitter finish.

On tap at Arendsnest. Very dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Smooth semi dry palate. Sweet dark malt, no roastiness. Sweet fruit and coca cola make a subtle appearance. Whisper of spice. Really nicely joined up and a bit different.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.Clear dark dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark chocolate, chocolate malt, moderate hoppy, soapy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Makes you expect more than what it is .. IMO a bit thin and watered ;O) [20110313]

Bottle from Bier Koning. Very hazy dark brown beer - amber beer. Good pale tan head. Frothy palate, semi dry. Light touch of dark malt with a rich but subtle undertone of coffee and brandy. Good coffee and hop bitterness coming through before the semi dry finish. Some minerals. Decent.
