Description

33 cl bottle @ home. Golden color with huge white head. Aroma is caramel malty, spicy/peppery, a hint of honey. Flavor is bitter and sweetish. Lots of carbonation gives it some acidity. Medium bodied. Bitter finish, but not harsh. Great flavorful tripel.

Cloudy brown beer. tan head. Rich malt - a little sour spicyness combats potential blandness. Smooth semi dry finish.

Bottled. Hazy golden color, big rocky slight off-white head. Soft spicy aroma, hint of grain, honey, grassy hop. Nice clean tripel taste, with a clear hint of honey sweetness. Hopbitterness and honey sweetness interchange. The sweet honey is not my favorite, as it is usually overwhelms a brew, but here I actually pretty much like it.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Drinking this one day after Poolvos. Color is deep brown, with a beige (non lasting) head. Aroma’s are malty sweet, roasted and a bit herbal. Roasted flavor, sweet and somewhat bitter. Clearly fuller bodied than Poolvos. Fairly bitter finish. Quite nice.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Brown color, quickly receding head. Aroma’s of sweet malt, aromatic hops, herbal, somewhat roasted. Flavor is roasted, slightly sweet. Rather thin mouthfeel. Dry, not too harsh bitter finish. Good enough, but since this is the watered down version of IJsbeer, I’m curious how that one is.
