Description
Op zijn zeventiende vertrok Ramses Snoeij naar zijn vader in Amerika. Rond 1990 werd daar het eerste Ramses Bier gebrouwen in Oregon, aan de westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Na zijn terugkeer in Nederland koos hij in 2007 ervoor zijn brouwhobby commercieel aan te pakken. Zijn eerste commerciële brouwsel was Willem Bever dat in 2007 werd geïntroduceerd. De bieren van Ramses Bier werden aanvankelijk gebrouwen met behulp van de brouwfaciliteiten van Bierbrouwerij De 3 Horne in Kaatsheuvel. Hier werden brouwsels gebrouwen van 700-800 liter. De proefbrouwsels werden in Wagenberg gebrouwen en hadden een volume van 50-60 liter. In februari 2013 werd een eigen bedrijfsruimte opgeleverd met een nieuwe brouwinstallatie die een brouwcapaciteit van 1.500 liter heeft.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, sweet citrus, floral, earthy, light malty. Flavour is light to medium sweet, malty, grapefruit, blood orange, earth, firm bitterness. Medium bodied. Very tasty.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of some lime, earthy hops, light floral, lemon. Flavour is malty, earthy, lemon, lime, firm bitterness, light floral. Light bodied. Nice.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Hazy golden amber colour, off-white head. Aroma is floral, light spicy, rye, light earthy, hint of tobacco and caramel. Flavour is light to medium sweet, caramel, floral, some resin, citrus, tobacco, bitter light herbal finish. Light bodied. Decent pale ale, not exactly a session ipa to me.

Very dark brown with massive foaming head. Aroma has some dark malts and raisins. Flavour is bittersweet. Underlying whiskey sweetness in the background. Dry finish.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy dark brown, very thin beige head. Taste: Roasted malt, notes of red fruit and wood. Hints of caramel and nuts, smoke. Bit boozy. Bitter and bit earthy finish. Dry mouthfeel. Nice balanced, some complexity.

Bottle. Color: Black, no head. Taste: Very dry, dark roasted malt, smoke, notes of whisky and dark chocolate. Medium sweet, some bitterness. Hints of wood and licorice. Medium to above medium body, low carbonation. Not a bad beer, but lacking complexity, pretty flat.

Bottle (from het biermoment). Pours dark amber with beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, wheat, booze, bit farty. Flavor is sweet, caramel, malt, some bitterness, some dirtiness. Finish is bitter and somewhat sour. Does cover alcohol rather well. Overall: okish, I expected more...
