Description
Op zijn zeventiende vertrok Ramses Snoeij naar zijn vader in Amerika. Rond 1990 werd daar het eerste Ramses Bier gebrouwen in Oregon, aan de westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Na zijn terugkeer in Nederland koos hij in 2007 ervoor zijn brouwhobby commercieel aan te pakken. Zijn eerste commerciële brouwsel was Willem Bever dat in 2007 werd geïntroduceerd. De bieren van Ramses Bier werden aanvankelijk gebrouwen met behulp van de brouwfaciliteiten van Bierbrouwerij De 3 Horne in Kaatsheuvel. Hier werden brouwsels gebrouwen van 700-800 liter. De proefbrouwsels werden in Wagenberg gebrouwen en hadden een volume van 50-60 liter. In februari 2013 werd een eigen bedrijfsruimte opgeleverd met een nieuwe brouwinstallatie die een brouwcapaciteit van 1.500 liter heeft.

Bottle from Bierkonig. Cloudy orange with a medium head. Aroma of grainy malt. Flavour is grain, bitter fruit hop, yeast on a chocolate malt base.

Draught at Ahrendsnest. Black with a full head. Aroma of licorice malt. Flavour is yeast and licorice, a little salt underneath, malt dry finish. A little pepper on the palate.

Sampled from 0.75 l bottle at Best Western Woerden (single hop Hallertau Perle). Hazy, golden yellow with a white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, moderately grassy and a bit yeasty aroma of citrus, clove, vanilla and honey. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, rather fruity, quite grassy and a bit yeast taste of citrus, vanilla, honey and some clove, followed by a short, rather dry-bitter, grassy and a bit yeasty finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice!

Keg at Arendsnest. Pours clear amber, nose is sugary, caramel, some fruit, taste is rich, malty, bit on the thin side.

Bottle, Single Hop Hallertauer Perle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is peach, yeasty, straw, a touch vegetables. Taste is the same. Medium carbonation, rather light-bodied. Alright.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy deep amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is mild phenolic, slight fruity. Sweet, mild metallic. Phenolic. Toasted malt. Medium dry. Phenolic snd toasted malt finish.
