Description

Huge, dense & fine yellowish head, very stable; pale orange-ochre beer. Beautiful grapey C-hops nose, bit of glue and citrus. I love Nelson Sauvin... Outspoken dry hop flavours and some good, faintly caramelly pale malts; summer grain. Hops are a bit raw - mixed with EU hops or Magnum, maybe. Refreshing; medium bodied; not spritzy yet well-carbonated. A very good interpretation of IPA, local variety. Many thanks so Stef and the man himself!

First clear coppery-yellow beer; end of bottle fully hazy orange beer with a dirty yellow head. Fruity and meaty esters, slightly liqueurish. Sweet, with a slight sourish milky touch. Beer gives the impression of being not fully fermented, worts-like. Well-carbonated, medium bodied. Sweetness even more in the aftertaste. Longer lagering would have helped the beer, Mark! Thanks to Stef C.!

Faintly hazed, but bright garnet-cyclamen beer, under a huge, pink to cyclamen head, slowly collapsing leaving lacerings. Fruity nose, with cherries and some vegetable aroma as green peas or unboiled cabbage leaf. Sweet-sourish cherries’ flavour, partly sweets-like, partly cherryjuice-like. Nearly tart. Good fruitflavour, and a bit of "Madeleine" cookies. Quite dry, certainly in the finish. Good as it is, it is cruelly missing the flavours from the cherrystones. The juice makes it a tad too... softdrink-like.

Bottle 2010 version at Kerstbier Festival, Essen, Belgique, 19.12.10 Pours dark brown with a small light beige head. There is a little sourness on the tongue, some wet wood, lavender, juniper and general light perfumeyness going on with this beer. I quite like it. A7 A4 T6 P4 Ov13 3.4

2010 Oak aged Thick-set, cream-coloured head over garnet-shot, black-brown beer. Sourish, woody, lactic acid, fruity esters. Tart, wry flavour but with a seeming of sweetness, alcoholic in character, in the background. Very good sour-sweet balance. Acid thinning, dry-out effect, tannines obvious. Sample a bit more severe than previous try-outs, still very good. Marks’ tour-de-force.
