On tap at the brewpub. Not to sure if this is to be registered as Belgium Golden ale or some kind if Sasion? It’s quite Belgium in style as it has Westmalle trappist yeast, on the other hand it’s definitively quite Saion’ish in the ester profil. Anyway, its unclear, almost hazy pale golden with a medium sized white head. The aroma is dominated by yeast and ester, feels a bit spicy/peppery and hint of pale malt. Flavor is rather soft, pale malt, again lots of yeast and ester, slightly acetone kinda flavor. Medium body and aftertaste in the same direction. Not bad, not very exiting, still almost a bit extreme in yeast flavor/aroma. Hard to nail this actually even with a big glass of this. Probably suitable for some dishes I think, fish/vegetables/salad kind of food.

Tap @ Brygghuset. Hazy yellow golden body with a dense white head. Aroma has lots of citric fruit and peaches. Flavor is mostly fruity like aroma, some fruity bitterness and some zesty bitterness toward the aftertaste. Fine body. OK, easy drinkable fruity IPA.

Tap @ Brygghuset. Hazy orange golden body with a nice, lacing white head. Strong and very nice, refreshing aroma of ripe fruit, peach, mango and oranges. Flavor is also nice and refreshing, but fells a bit one-dimensional on the fruity side, ripe fruit, mango, peach, oranges and citric zesty bitterness. Fine balanced body and nice aftertaste in the same direction. I guess this will be a big hit for the locals.

Tap @ Brygghuset. Black body with a moderate sized, lacing beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt and quite much dark roasted coffee. Flavor is smooth, dark malt, roasted coffee, mocha, fruit and balancing bitterness. Fine body and long lasting pleasant aftertaste. Its very tasty and well made, almost a bit easy to underestimate as nothing really stands out in any particular direction, perhaps with the exception of the coffee, but otherwise this is just a very balanced and well made stout without any buzz and fuzz. Perhaps extra Nice for the coffee lovers?

Tap @ the brewpub. Hazy orange body with a moderate sized, stable white head. Aroma is very nice, super refreshing, lots of smooth tropical juice. Flavor is also fresh and juicy with tropical fruit, ripe peach and hint of mango. Not too sweet and decent bitterness as well. Fine body with a long lasting aftertaste. A really nice, well balanced fruity IPA.

Tap @ the brewpub. Almost clear golden body with a nice, stable, creamy white head making curtains. Mild, smooth aroma with light malt and fruit. Flavor has a nice, soft maltiness, mild fruity and slightly grassy bitterness. Medium body and nice aftertaste in the same smooth direction. Nice for a lager. Not very much goineg on, but sure a pleasent thirst quencer.

Tap @ the brewpub. Hazy purple bosy with a small, disappearing pale, pink head. Aroma is fruity and berries with blackcurrant dominance and hint of minerals. Flavor has a nice sweet and sour balance, not too sweet and not very sour. Fruit/berries like aroma, dominated by blackcurrant puree, hint of salt and some kind of milky sourness. A bit unusually compared with similar kettle sours, but quite pleasant. Can’t have too much of this, but fun for a small glass.

Tap @ the brewpub. A hazy yellow orange body with a lacing, medium sized white head. Strong hoppy aroma, peach, citric fruit, passion fruit, slightly floral and hint of honey. Flavor is refreshing and quite bitter with the same fruitiness as found in aroma, also some grassy bitterness and almost a bit like chewing hop pellets. Some malt flavor in the background where the sweetness is balancing towards the bitterness. Fine body and long lasting, mostly fruity bitter aftertaste, a slightly hop burn is to be found but I’m enjoying this kind of bitterness, not exactly balance but nothing extreme either, just a well pronounced, distinct bitterness.

Tap @ Cristianssand Brygghus. (I did not noticed the alcohol content, but assume it’s something around 7% - hope the local admin correct this as he drank the same beer together with me.) Unclear, but not hazy golden body with a small, lacing white head. Strong and nice citric fruity aroma, mostly peach but also leaving room for some pale malt here. Flavor is nice and refreshing as well mostly with citric fruit and a good fruity bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting fruity and bitter aftertaste. As the Yeastcost #2 where classified as a New England IPA this is clearly on the more traditionally IPA side, still a modern version with moderate malt flavor and mostly pale malt, but the bitterness and hop flavor (not just another hoppy nose) makes this slightly more complex and less one-dimensional. Nice, tasty and very refreshing.

Tap @ the brewpub. A deep amber body with a nice, dense tan head. Nice and spicy aroma of cinnamon, ginger, cocoa, oranges peel and caramel malt with a hint of bread and yeast. Flavor is medium sweet, brown malt, caramel, spices like aroma, chocolate/cocoa powder and moderate bitterness. Balanced body and long lasting spicy aftertaste. All in all a very fine and balanced beer for the Christmas season. Perhaps not a beer to go along with any kind of food, probably best alone.
