Description
Love Lane Brewing is based in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, voted the “coolest” district in the UK. We’re keeping the city’s proud brewing heritage alive, with a new brewery and distillery.
In 2016, we began the transformation of our Liverpool base, renovating an old rubber factory into a 18,000 hectolitre Brewery, capable of brewing 3.2 million pints. Our family of beers and gins are all made under one roof.
Liverpool Craft was founded in 2011. Liverpool Craft bought in the Higsons Brewery name in 2018 at he same time the brewery changed name to Love Lane Brewery. Brewing started at the current venue in 2019. Cask beers are produced using the Higson's name, keg beers using Love Lane.

Pleasant but delicate citrus aroma, dry in taste with biscuit notes and a bit of pine, pine and resin bitterness is very delicate. Drinkable, rather average but the price works wonders.

Pale yellow, hazy. Pleasant citrus aroma. Light to medium body, dry with a subdued taste of tropical fruits, albedo bitterness plays the main fiddle. Drinkable, rather average but the price works wonders.

Can from Home Bargains. Hazy golden body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw and apricot. Flavour of orange pith and white bread. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Smooth and hoppy, pretty good for the price.

Can. Light misted gold with small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, apricot and light pine. Taste has a decent fruity grapefruit, orange zest, pineapple, some grassiness. Medium bodied, semi-drying, reasonable bitter bite.

Can from Home Bargains. Hazy gold with white head and decent retention. Aroma is quite subtle for the style but mango, flora and citrus are notable. Taste again is not that intense but mango, citrus pith, pine and peppery spice notes make this quite tasty. Nice slick medium body and spiky carbonation. Enjoyable bittersweet fruit and spicy finish. My previous beer was a NEIPA from Tiny Rebel and I'm giving the same score as that one surprisingly. The TR beer had a fresher and more notable hop presence but the Love Lane beer has a more full mouthfeel, the balance of flavour is better and the spiciness is a nice element. Not bad for a £1.79 can.

Can from Lidl. Near black with small beige head. Nice aroma with the dark malt, chocolate and maple coming through well. Very tasty; dark malt, hint of liquorice, chocolate and some maple in the finish with a bitter roast. Not sickly sweet like some in this style. Slick body and low carbonation which is ok although slightly fuller and a more notable but soft carbonation would be better. I'm being a bit picky for a low cost craft beer. This is very good stuff.

Can from Lidl as part of their beer festival. Pours a clear gold with small quickly receding head. Aroma of sweet malts, grains, honey, light floral note. There is a certain crispness to this with lingering honey note and sweetness although not overbearing despite mild bitterness. Good light to medium body, quite smooth. Nice.

440ml can. Clear light amber with small bubbled head, minor retention. Aroma of tropical fruits, floral, lemon, malts. Taste is a decent balance between hops and malt although a slight touch of astringency in the finish.

440ml can from Lidl. Hazy light red/purple with a small pink hued fizzy top which dissipates quickly. Aroma of grains, raspberry with a hint to the other berries. Quite tart in flavour with raspberries and blueberries notable with a grainy background. Very light and drinkable. Nice.
