Description
Love Lane Brewing is based in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, voted the “coolest” district in the UK. We’re keeping the city’s proud brewing heritage alive, with a new brewery and distillery.
In 2016, we began the transformation of our Liverpool base, renovating an old rubber factory into a 18,000 hectolitre Brewery, capable of brewing 3.2 million pints. Our family of beers and gins are all made under one roof.
Liverpool Craft was founded in 2011. Liverpool Craft bought in the Higsons Brewery name in 2018 at he same time the brewery changed name to Love Lane Brewery. Brewing started at the current venue in 2019. Cask beers are produced using the Higson's name, keg beers using Love Lane.

Taster at the brewery in Liverpool, England. Pours a crystal clear yellow color with a small white head and good retention. Standard malt aroma. Clean and smooth and slightly sweet pale malt flavor with very low bitterness in the finish. Super clean and crisp and very easy drinking. Light body. Medium light carbonation. Low bitterness. I like this. It's very smooth and drinkable.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A hazy pale amber coloured pour with a tight white cap; aroma of grape and melon; very soft in the mouth with a creamy texture and a fresh melon taste and a gentle kick of lemon and lime; giving a long tangy citrus finish. A subtle and rewarding pale ale.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A hazy amber pour with a ring of white head; passion fruit aroma; rather thin and watery in the mouth with pineapple and citrus over a sweet biscuity malt body; then a dry fruity finish.

Can. Home Bargains. £1.49 my dang. Mostly clear orangey gold. Slim sticky just off white swede. Big Nectaron hoppage here. No shortage for sure. Sweet malt backdrop. Smells sweet. Further notes of spicy biscuit and well ripe citrus. Taste is similarly sweet with a fair pithy bitterness. Decent body overall. A tad sticky maybe. Bitter finish with some welcome dryness. Can’t complain really. Not same league as the Kiwi job though.

Can. Home Bargains. Looks like it was packaged 3 weeks ago. Hazed pale gold. Decent white suds stay the course. Nose has a pissy grapey twang. Pale grain. Some oats. Some pithy citrus. Taste has a moderate sweetness with pithy bitterness. Light and fairly clean overall. Dries out toward the finish. Nice and fresh and at £1.49 a pop it’s a bit of a winner.

On the day I'm drinking this beer in history, on the West Coast of the USA, the United Nations Charter was signed back in 1945 in San Francisco, which is represented in the beer can's art work. I'm signing this beer off as quite average, not undrinkable but there's a lacklustre effort in the brewing here with a bland subdued fruitiness, meaning a hoppy-malty dominant base. It was my choice to buy it from Home Bargains so I will live with my choice! No head, very mildly hazy golden.

On the day I'm drinking this beer back in 2022, Australian Minjee Lee won her second golf 'Major' championship at Pine Needles in North Carolina. This Aussie style pale is not a major player in the grand scheme of beers, but certainly more than drinkable with decent citrus and pine in both aroma and taste. Slightly bland in the latter but easy enough down the palate.

Time Out's UK best beach in 2025 is Holkham in Norfolk. Sweet citrus tropical fruit brew in both aroma and taste, infused with a hint of breadiness. Hazy dank yellow-gold.
