Bottle picked up from Eurospar Schärding Austria. Had this Tuesday 18th March 2025 on a call with friends after our German lesson in Grafenau. I have to be honest it wasn't great, the pour looked ok but not classic weisse, maybe my fault but regardless taste was lacking. Alkoholfrei taint, usual wheat beer characteristics were subtle. Not great.

Ich teste mal wieder ein alkoholfreies Weißbier - Spaß macht sowas nicht. Trübe, orange Farbe. Herrlich cremiger Schaum. Also aussehen tut das richtig gut. Etwas leeres Malz und Orangensaft in der Nase. Und das ist auch was man geschmacklich bekommt. Der ersten Schluck ist noch fast schon schockierend süß - dann harmoniert sich das ganze. Hopfen ist kaum vorhanden. Schon recht limonadig. Trotzdem, so schlecht schmeckt das gar nicht. Die typischen Fehlnoten eines alkoholfreien Biers schlagen hier nicht so dramatisch durch. Fast kommt sowas wie Genuss auf. Tatsächlich würde ich sogar sagen, dass das eines der besseren alkoholfreien Weizen war, die ich bisher hatte.

Baumgartner Export, Flasche von Eurospar, Schärding. - Mit 5,7 % hat das Baumgartner Export schon richtig Wums, was ihm aber nicht anzusehen ist: hell goldgelb und blank fließt es ins Glas, bei sehr spärlicher Schaumbildung. - In der Nase mild getreidiges helles Malz mit fruchtigen Noten und nur leichter Hopfung. - Antrunk kernig getreidig-hellmalzig, fein gerstig und merklich schwerer als ein Helles. Schöne aber milde, weich zitrusfruchtige Hopfung, Anklänge an reife Pfirsiche. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang weich zitrusfruchtige Hopfenherbe. - Höherprozentiges Export, dessen Malzigkeit - trotz angenehmer Aromatik - dem Ethanolgehalt nicht ganz gewachsen ist, was sich in leisem, Bockbier-ähnlichem alkoholischem Grundrauschen zeigt. Baumgartner Pils, Fläschchen von Eurospar, Schärding. - Helles Goldgelb, blank. - In der Nase sehr blasse zitronenschalige Hopfung. - Antrunk frisch und fein zitronig mit milder aber doch pilstypischer Herbe und interessanten Anklängen an Grapefruit und schwarze Johannisbeere. Zartes helles Malz, ganz leise Restsüße. Etwas milder rezent, schlank. Im Abgang angenehm trocken und mild-aromatisch hopfenherb. - Angenehmes, rundes Pilsener, das nach banaler Nase noch mit feiner Hopfung überrascht. (30.4.2024.)
