Smell of cocoa, coffee. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate. Soft palate, lively carbon. Much like stout. Pleasant.

Bottle picked up from Beyond Beer webshop Hamburg, had this sat outside on another warm day though thankfully not blisteringly hot Wednesday 19th July 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music and about to cook a Fish Pie. Pours hazy mid gold with a white head, a nice dryness, mid bitterness, good bite, light mineral edge. There is a little fruitiness but I cannot determine what I am picking up. Nice.

Draught @ Galopper des Jahres, Hamburg. Pours hazy straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with touches of fruit and yeast. Bitter, hoppy and citric flavour with sweetish notes of fruit and yeast, and malty touches. Bitter and citric aftertaste with estery and malty touches. Reasonable, if a little watery.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orange, dark golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy and slightly caramel malty as well as veggie aroma, notes of pumpkin, hints of pimento, some ginger. Taste is spicy and minimally veggie, hints of ginger, some pimento, pumpkin, a touch of clove. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Decent composition, but a bit monotonous and incomplete (can't get any clove nor cinnamon), lacks body to incorporate a fuller spectrum of flavours - so-so.

330ml bottle [as Frau Knolle]. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, white head. Full-blown, mild ginger aroma with spicy, sweet-ish and minimally citrusy aspects, widely disguised, pale malty background. Taste is spicy and pale malty, minimally bitter hoppy, notes of ginger with mild hotness. Watery texture, dry palate, medium, scattered, prickly carbonation. Well dosed, intense ginger flavours, spicy but not overdone, not the smallest hint of soapy interference - very nice.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 10A adapted: non alcoholic) Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown (BB 9/23). AROMA: medium-high beer must aroma. APPEARANCE: light yellow body and slightly hazy. medium-low white head with low retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium sweet notes of beer must. medium-high bitterness with a semi-dry and worty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a very poor alkoholfrei weizen.
