De Bierbroeders is een Microbrouwerij uit West-Friesland. De twee oprichters zijn Lars Jautze en Bert Buysman. Tijdens jaren van speciaal bier liefhebben kwam het idee bij Bert en Lars vaak ter sprake om zelf te gaan brouwen. Hoe leuk dat zou zijn en of het zou kunnen en natuurlijk de vraag of het lekker zou worden. Na veel praten en proeven zijn Bert en Lars op bezoek geweest bij Brouwerij de Molen (Bodegraven) en daar met heel veel inspiratie en nog meer zin om zelf te brouwen vandaan gekomen. Iets later zijn we een aantal keer op bezoek gegaan bij Thuisbrouwerij De Stinkmuis van Rudy de Kieviet. Toen was het hek van de dam en zijn de ingrediënten gekocht, apparatuur gekocht en geleend (Thanks: Rudy!) en een dag gepland om te gaan 'brouwen"!

Bottle shared at and thanks to sjogro. Clear deep reddish brown with fluffy beige head. Earthy roast, salty licorice, cola, dry dead leaves, mineral, dry roasted malts, old coffee dregs. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with dry feel.

Bottle from dé Slijterij van Enkhuizen (Ex Mitra). Sweet and bitter, liquid tobacco, bitter earthy potato peels, leathery, rye bread. Moderate sweet and quite bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Dry and bitter.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy brown with very big beige head. Earthy, caramel, rye bread, lots of dead leaves, dried pine needles, pine nuts, rotten cocoa beans, sour berries, light funk, brown bread. Medium sweet and bitter, light tart. Solid medium bodied. Weird.

Caramel in the bready aroma. Hint of earthy hops. Full bodied. Malty sweet, bready flavor. Hint of roast. Caramelly. Milk chocolate. Much, much better as in the previous year!
