Description
De Bierbroeders is een Microbrouwerij uit West-Friesland. De twee oprichters zijn Lars Jautze en Bert Buysman. Tijdens jaren van speciaal bier liefhebben kwam het idee bij Bert en Lars vaak ter sprake om zelf te gaan brouwen. Hoe leuk dat zou zijn en of het zou kunnen en natuurlijk de vraag of het lekker zou worden. Na veel praten en proeven zijn Bert en Lars op bezoek geweest bij Brouwerij de Molen (Bodegraven) en daar met heel veel inspiratie en nog meer zin om zelf te brouwen vandaan gekomen. Iets later zijn we een aantal keer op bezoek gegaan bij Thuisbrouwerij De Stinkmuis van Rudy de Kieviet. Toen was het hek van de dam en zijn de ingrediënten gekocht, apparatuur gekocht en geleend (Thanks: Rudy!) en een dag gepland om te gaan 'brouwen"!

Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, wheat, a bit sweet, slightly herbal. Average to medium body, quite sharp carbonation. Meh.

On tap at Winterbierfestival Wormer. TFS today’s beers PotjeBier! Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, cookie dough, light floral. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, cookie dough, light floral, light fruity, bitter finish, light metallic. Light bodied. OK.

Tap @ Wormer Winterbierfest. According to the brewers this spent 1.5 years in a (wooden?) barrel or whatever. Cloudy golden yellow color. Dense rocky white head with good retention. Aroma’s: sweet malts, fruity, yeast. Retronasal it’s fruity, caramel malt, light bitter, herbal, light plastic. Flavor is fruity, herbal, light bitter. Medium bodied. Moderate bitter finish. Not too bad.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Bierbroeders #2 ].Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, moderate yeasty, belgium - dutch yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, sugary, belgium yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20161112] 5-3-5-3-11

33 cl fles, 10%, van de bier-winkel, schenkt donker bruin met lichte gloed en beperkte kaki kraag. helaas wel met wat gist floaties uitgeschonken, aroma van graan, mout, caramel, zoet, donker fruit. Smaken zijn redelijke tot zwaar zoet, caramel, graan, fruitig (rozijn, pruim), zoete mout, lage co2, matige body, alcoholisch.... mwahhh.... geen topper...

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and slight caramelish. Toasted malty and caramelish. Light caramelish and sweet. Toasted, sweet, yeasty and caramelish finish.

Bottle @Ulfborg Scooper. Murky brown, light beige froth. Malty, caramely aroma, very discrete honey notes. Malty flavour, honey-like sweetness. Low bitterness, low carb.

14th September 2016
Hazy deep red - amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts, some caramel. Ripe fruits. Fair dollop of spicy esters, too much really, gives an awkward overall taste. Soft finish. Respectable but loadsa headroom for improvement.
