Westerham Brewery Company has revived many of the much-loved flavours of the old Black Eagle Brewery, which closed in 1965 following the catastrophic consolidation by the ‘Big Brewers’ in the 1950’s. The yeast is re-cultured from the Black Eagle strain.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - massive gusher. Then amber with a fluffy white head. Nose - caramel, green grape and plum. Taste - caramel, brown bread, greengage and green apple. Palate - light bodied, malty middle and bitter finish. Overall - ok.

Can thanks to Ashton McCobb. Bit of a gusher. Pours clear golden Amber with a thick white head. Aromas of brown bread, light spice, caramel. Taste is light bitter, shandy bass, light plum. Thin finish.

Bottled. Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is cocoa, some ripe fruits, mild nutty and toffeeish notes along with some toast. Flavour pretty much has the same elements in a rather nicely bodied fluid. Good sipper.
Smooth grainy beginning. Neutral with a bit watery back. Dry, creamy, soft. Grainy dry finish with a moderate bitterness.

330ml can from Beer52 - Pours a clear golden colour with a small foamy near white head. The aroma is fruity, citrus with some pine hop notes. A moderately sweet taste, sweet malts, caramel, citrus flavours with resiny and light pine and moderately light bitterness.
