Associated Venue: Brouwerij Kees
Established in 2015
Owner and brewer Kees Bubberman started his brewing career in 2007 at Emelisse, a small regional brewery in Kamperland, Zeeland. Within a couple of years Emelisse became a household name among craft breweries worldwide, thanks to the by British and American beer styles inspired ales, IPA's, strong porters, stouts that Kees Bubberman brewed. Never afraid of trying something new and relying on his experience as a restaurant chef he created more than 30 new beers, including an IPA with Earl Grey tea, barrel aged porters en stouts and strong porters and stouts with coffee. Kees was ahead of his time with experimental flavours like these.
In 2014 Kees Bubberman decided to start his own brewery in his hometown Middelburg. Thankful for the opportunities Emelisse gave him, he felt that it was time to go his own way. Brewery Kees! started in January 2015 and within a year his delicious IPA's, strong porters, Russian Imperial stouts and barrel aged barley wines, porters en stouts found their way in the (beer-)world.
Kees keeps on creating new beers and searching for new tastes, sometimes following and sometimes setting trends.

330 ml can. Pours a dark brown with full foamy tan head. Aromas of dark sugars, caramel, pretzel salt, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on the pretzel salt. Can’t get much of the fudge from the CFS base though, so quite different from other CFS variants. Good stuff.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate fizzy head that settles quickly. Aromas of fudge, chocolate, vanilla, a little oak, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with slight additional whiskey. Other than a thinning effect not really getting much flavors from the barreling. Still, quite nice

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 14 Aug 2025) Golden amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of apricots, tropical fruit and dried pineapple. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, tropical fruit, apricots, pineapple, orange peel, bread and a generous citric/resiny bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh and hoppy. Nice one.

Can picked up from Mr Hop, Vernray, Netherlands and consumed sat in Frank after a night out with Jonas. Ursula, Sean and Heidi Friday 31st October 2025, actually it's technically 1st November 2025 now as it's 12:45. Pours black with a rapidly departing light beige head, it's actually a bit thinner in the mouth than expected. It's a fruity and roasty combination, bizarrely there is a little bit of cola. It's not totally my thing but it is fine.

0.44 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before October 2026. Hazy, golden orange with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, fairly fruity and a bit resiny aroma of mango, papaya and orange. Very sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity, moderately resiny taste of mango, papaya, orange, grapefruit, pine and some honeydew, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty TIPA, quite sweet but also nicely fruity, quite quaffable for such a high abv.

Can from Beerdome. Hazy dark golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 281025
Can purchased from Café de Oude Sluis, Rotterdam. Sweet imp. Stout based pastry beer. Smells fantastic like chocolate caramel desert. Very sweet, but some balance in bitterness and alcohol. Not very salt, but enough to give this particular salty caramel flavor together with lots of chocolate. Not a favorite by me, but well made within it’s style.
