Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle at Home. Golden color with a medium white head. A pretty average pilsner, that totally lacks on bittering and aroma hops, as the sweet malty background dominates. Also a slight sour.

Bottle from Kiya. Fragrant aroma, cherry, spice, caramel and chocolate, raisin. Deep brown with orange tints and a high, fine head. Tangy and fruity flavor, with spice, chocolate, and some roasted character. Interesting. A bit of citrus too, hops, nice strong bitterness. High carbonation, rather light. Original. Some aspects like a blonde, some like a stout...

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Yeasty and slightly grainy malty aroma with hints of overripe citrus and mildly spicy accents. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly biscuity malty and citric taste with a musty touch in the background; moderately sweet and slightly fruity malt-accented finish with a masked alcoholic note. Okay, no highlight. 15.X.11

Bottle. Dark brown/red pour with beige head. Malt and caramel aroma with a bit of rainy day freshness. Full bodied and tasty, but a note that tastes of old sox, that brings down the otherwise good flavour. Caramel and balanced hop/malt finish

Bottle (not sure, might be draught) @ Moeder Lambic. Very yellow to orange colour with a vast white head. Smells mandarine, fruity, refreshing. Tastes as i expected from the smell. This beer would be best enjoyed during the summer, outside and when it’s warm.
