Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, very nice large carbo-bubbles moving upwards to a big thick white head. Smell sweetness, fruityness and a faint hint of hops. Taste sweet, fruit, slightly sugar, little bit citrus and slightly bitter. Firm carbonation and medium to full body; very nice tripel in my opinion!

330 ml bottle @ John Bull pub in Aalborg. Slightly hazy golden body with a big, creamy white head. Nice and fresh aroma of light malt, citric fruit and grassy hops. Flavor is light malty, sweet, citric fruity, grassy hops and moderate bitterness. Medium body and decent aftertaste. A well balanced beer, best described as a hoppy blond.

Bottle at Botteltje bar in Ostend, Belgium. A golden/amber coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Fruity, sweet, Belgian aroma. Tastes fruity, quite sweet, malty, honey. I’ve also had this on tap a few times, really nice Belgian ale, this is almost a Belgian session beer.

Hazy, dark yellowish colour. Smells sweet, fruity, yeasty and abricots. Tastes accordingly. Mouthfeel is okay, but it’s slightly too heavy on the carbo.

Sampled on draft at House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a hazy golden-apricot color with a large foamy white head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweet candied golden fruits. The flavor was tangy with notes of table sugar and faint peach and pear elements and a boozy undertone. The finish was medium length and turned a bit dry with lingering sugar and fruit. Full bodied and a bit syrupy. Solid.

Bottle 25 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy golden with an off-white head. Sweet fruitiness in the nose, but the yeast prevails. Fairly light body, the yeastiness is the dominating feature of this beer. Subdued bitterness. A plain old school Belgian Ale. 030711
