Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle 25 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy golden with an off-white head. Sweet fruitiness in the nose, but the yeast prevails. Fairly light body, the yeastiness is the dominating feature of this beer. Subdued bitterness. A plain old school Belgian Ale. 030711

On tap at the house of 1000 beers, that place amazes me sometimes. Slightly cloudy with a nice creamy head. Nice lacing too. Mildly floral aroma. A little bitter but never over the top, well behave and refined. Flat, and not as quite refined as I like my belgdies. Ok beer experience, but a little less than I expected. Of course that makes it better than most american beers that try to imitate the belgies. .

from beerplanet.eu clear dark amber, large smooth offwhite to yellow head. Aroma of fresh raisins, dark fruits, flowers, caramel, anise or licorice, faint metallic herbal note. Quite complex, mild and well blended. nice. flavor is similar to the aroma. Add a little yeasty sourness, some malts and what seems to be almost a woody note. Very drinkable, quite smooth palate, great beer.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color ale with large foamy head with nice thick foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light fruity ester with nice semi-sweet Belgian malt base. Taste is an easily drinkable mix between some semi-sweet Belgian style malt with light fruity ester and light floral notes. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done for style with great drinkability factor.
